They wouldn't let pilots fly as often as we fly in our industry... roflmao.gif

Well the (hopefully) very last nail in USF1's coffin is made today, the FIA has fined the team 309,000 euros plus costs, and disqualified them from any future attempts to get in. Not sure if it affects Anderson and Windsor, but these lot are not coming back.

Thanks for the fun and toasters guys. tongue.gif

It was obvious that they wouldn't be able to reapply when they said the car wouldn't be done in time. The company has been dead and gone for months now. While I agree with the FIA about the cause of them not making the grid, the "fine" and asking for costs is largely academic. The FIA is not recognized as a legal authority in the US and the decisions are non binding under US law. They could try to pursue a civil case but a bankruptcy would shield them and I seriously doubt that a BK judge would allow the claim.

You don't see the significance of the amount they were fined?

Hint - the FIA doesn't need to sue for the 309,000 euros, they already have it.

Impressed by FIA. I must admit, under Todt the FIA makes much more reasonable and sensible decisions than with the previous president who used punishments as an instrument of getting pleasure and revenge.

Pity Anderson and Winsor didn't receive lifetime ban personally, as they truly deserved that honour with their shameless bullshit artistry.

LOL hilarious photo.

Anyway, FIA need to sort out the last entry for next year! It's becoming very tight for a new team to produce a car for '11 when the rules are constantly being tinkered with. The decision should have been made in APRIL. This is getting ridiculous. Perhaps entry needs to be deferred until '12. I know Lotus managed it - just, but not every team has Mike Gascoyne.

But they also included costs, which they aren't going to get. It's likely a move to cover the FIA should a bankruptcy court come looking for the money. Typically, over here anyway, any monies paid for entry and the team doesn't show aren't refundable.
