It is good to see a number of new players this year and return of some veterans from years gone by. We had a good number of entrants for the first race of the season. I hope to see most of you stick it out for the year. Scoring for Bahrain was quite good, particularly considering it is the opening round which, traditionally, has quite low scoring. Ok, less of the blah, blah and more of the results.
Top step of the podium went to 2003 GTG Champion Kismet with 20 points. Is this the start of the first season to see a repeat champion? Did I just curse Kismet to acheive "also ran" status? Second was a six way tie between acuraf1, Anderis, Ghostrider, Grundle, inca_roads, and rayb.
Each round I will calculate 3 BOT entries, although only 1 for this round. The BOT entries are:
Average Grid which is based on the collective wisdom of all the entrants. I take the drivers with the 10 most entries and calculate an average grid position guess for each driver. I then sort these from lowest to highest. The driver with the lowest average guess gets pole the second highest gets number 2 etc. This round the Average Grid scored 12 points which puts it in the bottom third of the table.
WDC which is based on the position of the drivers on the points table for the World Drivers Championship. As we do not actually have a WDC table yet there is no guess and, therefore, no score this round.
Superstat which is based on the average qualifying position of the drivers. Once again there is no guess for this in Bahrain. Australia will see the Bahrain grid as its opening guess. It starts to get harder from there.
