I'm curious how big the temperature differences typically are across the tread of an F1 tire. I've seen pictures and videos of tires where the tire is blistered or grained in a fairly thin line around the tread. Usually off to one side, I think, like this: http://www.insideracingtechnology.com/Reso...eblisteropt.jpg Does anyone have any real world data or at least an anecdote or two to get some idea what sort of temperature differences are involved? Is the blistered area 20C hotter than the rest of the tire or whereabouts?
