Full Version: Alonso's new manager Nigel Mansell?

Alonso was seen out clubbing in Italy by Vogue magazine photo snapper, which means little, but guess who he met in the VIP area in the club??? Nigel Mansell. Yes indeed, Mansell was in the VIP area in a club called Blink 10.

I actually think Mansell may become Alonso's new manager. Heard some rubblings about it on other forums as well.

A bit of English Eleoni Lion roar of Mansell combined with the bull fighting spirit of Alonso overtaking could be a mighty GRIT intimidating presense on the grid.
This isn't the first time Mansell was linked with ferrari somehow, he was almost creative consultant in 2008 for Ferrari as seen in this previous thread:

I would've laughed so hard if it was Anthony Hamilton.

Wow, that´s news indeed!
Can´t imagine it though. Good one for a Sunday...

Maybe Mansell met with Alonso on behalf of his sons.

Lewis would have died laughing as well, so it would have been a smart move by Fernando... stoned.gif

As far as I know Luis Garcia Abad is Alonso's manager, and has been for ages. I don't see any reason why he would want to change that. confused.gif

I think it is a joke.

Could be benefitial to bolster his management team with someone familar to the people at Ferrari as well as better understand the inner workings.
Clatter
Just so I'm clear. This is just speculation, not fact as per your thread title?

Ah, I see. Thanks for enlightening me.

Very funny joke indeed.... ohwell.gif

alonso joining to mansell would be his sentence of death and he's best friends with his manager, so I don't see this movement at all

Pssh, just 'cause you don't get Mister SeanValen's on-the-edge forum skills doesn't mean you have to insist to everyone else that it's not funny. Or enlightening. Or uplifting.

Anyway, I think it's time Nige handed down the 'tache to a younger generation.

Alonso is pretty much a recluse off the track, who knows what he really does, everyone is busy reading about Hamilton, Button and Schumacher, but Alonso off the track, unknown.... he's a expert at staying private.

Definately, and Mansell has known to be a bit of joker, maybe bring out some laughs with Alonso, be good to see, anyone remember Mansell being gifted a actual horse when he was driving, he said he'll bring the horse to the track for the extra horse power. smoking.gif Maybe riding his horse at Spain might bring a little bit of mystical spiritual horsepower Alonso's way. smoking.gif

Mansell and Allonso will be clubbing more this year me thinks up.gif

A moustache addes a bit of instant maturity and integrity, could help in the press conferences and post race interviews to control facial expressions and keep true thoughts hidden in case of controversial incidents. The maturity and integrity of a moustache is just what a young driver needs like Alonso, Mansell always deserved a oscar off the track according to Bernie, win the crowd, win your freedom amongst the fans, every little cheer helps at the track against rivals, even if alot of the competition is ice cool. Alonso could play on his intimidation tactics, he's a great driver, but if he could use Nansell's fame as a guide, he can use it to strengthen his on track reputation with more conviction. The moustache is bigger then any helmet color, Schumacher's red helmet, Senna's yellow, Mansell didn't have a helmet really, his moustache was the helmet, he intimidated out his nice guy english gentlemen aura through press conferences and psychologically it stayed with you even when his helmet was on! Schumacher once said Mansell was like a rugby player, lots of mud and pusing his way through the field hungarian overtaking style. Alonso is turning into Mansell day by day, didn't he have a goatee at some point, it'll grow back.
