hi im prity sure rick gorne is not the answer to no 2 as rick was in FF2000 in 78 driving a reynard sponsored by Barrats and run by richard utton racing rick went in 2 atlantic in 79 with a argo so maybe the year is out by one

I think Rick Gorne is the right answer, but it was indeed 1979 when he wrecked the Argo at Ingliston
There was no British Atlantic series in 1978, and no Atlantic race at Ingliston

Dan, I mainly recall their early cars and stopped getting programmes in 1981 . The S2000 was one with the flowing , all-enveloping bodywork. Shrike sprang to mind. The yellow paint really attracted insects! and I seem to recall they spent a lot of time wiping greenfly off it! Cheers Ian

I was at that meeting. There were a lot of jokes about oak trees of course! The Barratt helicopter was there too - it was famous in their adverts at the time. I seem to remember Russell Spence driving one of their cars at Ingliston. I'll have to dig my programmes out!

Broken driveshaft? I cannot remember that.

What I can remember was that strange bloke that took all the photographs at Ingliston. He must have thousands of fantastic photographs but it appears he much prefers to post strange looking Italian cars on TNF rather than some decent Ingliston photographs.

I really thought the Myrtle had legs as an answer to #11. There is a golf ball called Myrtle on Twitter and there are at least two satirists called John Walker. I'm deeply intrigued.

No 11 got me thinking.

The car is the Penfold FF2000 and the driver was Peter Cooke.

Mildly embarrassing that I didn't get #18. I used to be on the judging panel for the Pete Rogers Trophy...

I seem to recall that Indylantic had a strange qualifying system, based on results achieved in three short sprint races. Was the Griffin Golden Helmet awarded for the most feature race poles, or something relating to the highest number of victories recorded during these qualifying races?
