Hello folks.
I'm not really new – I had a login name and all that once but I've since forgotten both the name and the password. I started reading the forum here again about a month ago and figured I should at least have an active account, just in case I want to post something once in a while.
I've followed F1 on and off most of my life. I like Moto GP too, but I don't catch it regularly. There was a time when I watched North American racing but NASCAR doesn't have the technical elements I like and Champcar/IRL...well, I lost most of my interest for that a few years ago. ALMS is decent, though. GP2 is fun, so I do get up early for that (I'm in Canada).
What else should I say? Let's see...I don't have a clear-cut favorite team; right now I'm impressed with BMW and have always liked to see Williams and McLaren do well. I suppose Kimi's my current favorite driver-wise. Lewis is likeable enough and his driving style is entertaining so that's a plus. Kubica and Bourdais are two others I'm hoping for good things from. One thing I'm not about is fangirly bashing and lovefest silliness so don't worry about me being a problem that way. I guess that's about it.
You probably won't see much from me – I say that, even though I tend to be a bit too chatty at times - but I saw this thread and figured I should drop in and say 'Hi' rather than just start appearing in the odd thread.

Hey guys,
Im new here, despite having browsed the forum intently for the past couple months, but I look forward to contributing some worthwhile discussion to this already great board.
I enjoy all racing series, but my particular love for ferrari means I focus on F1. Of all drivers, I must say Michael is my favourite, although Gilles is up there too. I do like both Kimi and massa, but both have qualities I don't like, although as a pair they do a commendable job of making up for the other's weaknesses. As far as other teams I like, BMW-Sauber is definitely a team I highly respect.
Being in Canada (Toronto) as well as the age I am at (23) it is difficult to have many F1 discussions outside of my father and brother (both heavy ferrari fans, as you would expect), so I hope that this forum is a place where this will happen.

Hi there, long time lurker and tried on and off for a while to register, always seeming to hit on the 'registrations are temporarily disabled message' - I tried again today on a whim and managed to get in. Ace.
I'm more a fan of the sport of F1 (a rarity nowadays) and talent rather than a particular team or driver. I like seeing fast cars driven well and applaud those who can do it masterfully.

Hi, I'm someone...you can call me Belle
I've been watching racing (not just F1) for a long time now and I can honestly say not a lot more makes me as happy as when I am shouting at my drivers!
I'm a huge F1 fan, and Kimi and Nick are my drivers, I can't stand wonder-boy (Lewis). I also adore DTM and I support all the Brits (Ollie Jarvis and Katherine Legge are further down the order as they are Audi!) and my team are Merc. My fav driver is definitely Bruno Spengler though, I think he is awesome.
I'm quite opinionated, and I've been reading the forums for a while. Could never join because of he hotmail rule...found a way to get here though! Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Introducing myself:
I'm 30, from southern Italy. Italian, so a little tifoso, but not in a exceedingly blind way...I mean, for example I didn't agree with penalty for Hamilton following the Montreal crash.
I'm in love with motor racing and driving fast, always interested in technical amenities and oddities...and always tinkering about fast devices.
In life I'm a Italian Literature teacher, not too close to racing as a job, but after all I think great stories made great literature, and in motor racing there are a lot of great true stories, and I appreciate them, wheter regarding big names like Lauda, mansell, Senna, Cevert (one of my fav) or more obscure, more "specialized" drivers (not lesser, just not too known to the big audiences) a lot of which I read on Atlas forums.

Many thanks Jp, but I'm not too sure about my quality!
Seriously, many times, reading Atlas BB, I plan to enter a post, commenting something (usually bashing this quirky F1 season), but 9 times of 10 I end reading only, because someone wrote faster and better and more documented what I was thinking.
Ah, a correction to myself: Mansell has capital "M", I did a stupid keyboard mistake, stupid considering my never-ending love for "Il Leone". Nigel, hero of my youth.

Was a wee bit insulted that I have been considered a troll by some elder member on this forum that see themselves as more important because they have been on this forum longer then myself.
If people believe that their superior 'ive been on here longer so i'm better then you' attitude makes them some what boastful, then they live sad sad sad demeaning lives.

Thought I better introduce myself after finally getting onto this BB...
I'm 34 and hail from Australia - currently residing in Melbourne. Lived in the UK for 8 years, only returning to Australia 12 months ago. A bit of a motorsport fan, with Drag racing my first love, Formula one not far behind - however I will generally watch anything with a motor and wheels on it. Rallying, touring cars, MotoGP, Sportscars etc etc... although I don't really get much enjoyment from Drifting.
Have also been to see a few events - drag racing in the USA, the UK and Australia; the British, French, Belgium, San Marino and Australian GPs; Rally GB; Le Mans; Gold Coast Indy GP; A1GP and the historic Superprix at Brands; and the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Now I'm back in Oz I am hoping to get down to Phillip Island and make the pilgrimage up to Bathurst sometime soon.
Happy to have also experienced the sport from a non-spectating point of view through being a track official/worker at Willowbank Raceway in Australia and have also managed to have a go from the drivers seat with a couple of racing experiences at Brands and a bit of Karting, including a few karting enduros at Buckmore Park.
Have been a longtime lurker and reader of this BB but have only just registered now due to getting a non-yahoo email address setup.
Hopefully I can contribute something useful to this BB which has given me insight, misinformation, enjoyment, disbelief and quite a few laughs over the years.
Cheers!

Might as well post messen on here as i'm a newbie for the next twenty odd posts. My names Ben, been a fan of motorsports of just about (if not all) types for as long as i can remember, my first memory is Hockenheim 1991 when i was three and a half, watching an onboard shot of a car (no idea whose) flying between the trees of the old circuit, I've been hooked ever since. Obviously motorsports are my number one love but i'm a fan of most sports as well (supporting Leeds United and Rushden and Diamonds when it comes to the more round balled side of the world). Been meaning to register on here for ages and have finally got round to doing it.
When i'm not at Silverstone or Donnington I'm an Automotive Engineering student at the University of Leeds (although i'm still not sure if my future lies in engineering but that's another story).
Anyways glad i've finally joined looking forward to talking about the greatest thing in the world (motorsports if you need to ask)

Hi all.
I'm Lettie and am from Bristol, UK. I have actively follwed F1 since the 2004 season, having had fond memories of it growing up. I have been to Silverstone in 2007 and 2008 and am completely hooked and will not miss a race...ever.
My main man is Button, being local and all, but I have admiration for Lewis, Kubica and Massa (would prefer him not to be in a Ferrari)
I will prob be on here shouting loads when the marshals or FIA do something I don't agree with, have been on a Facebook forum this year but not a lot of people to talk to so am looking forward to posting on here.
Hey my name is Sabz and I'm from South Africa. Really love formula one since 1999. Never missed a race but never been to one either. Really happy to be part of the forum.

I first got into F1 through James Hunt. I got to know him back in 1977, the complete gentleman who taught my child to play squash (at which he was brilliant!).
I have followed it through to this day, and have joined here in the hope of finding some reason to continue to support F1, this last weekend has all but destroyed my faith.
I am now retired, love travelling, so want to see at least one Singapore GP before I go to a better place, and have a wish to meet DC, whom I adore! Apart from that I am just one fairly nutty lady!

Hi everybody ;) I am from Poland and I am 15. My best driver is Sebastian Vettel and Robert Kubica of course. Best team? I think Toro Rosso.

I will say sth about me and F1 'carrer':
- I watch Formula One races since 1994 - year later after my birthday, I was watching some races, because my father and grandfather were Schumi's fans
- I am reallly interested in Formula One since 2006, and I was at Monza twice in 2006 and in 2008.
- Since October 2007 I write news 4 the biggest polish F1 internet site.
Cheers ;)

Hi everyone
I am a 42 year old F1 fan. I have been following the sport since I was 6 years old and my claim to fame is I once sat in James Hunts Mclaren in 1976 before the British GP! He won the race but was later disqualified...sound familiar?
I cant say I have a favorite team, I have supported Williams, Benetton, mclaren and ferrari over the years depending on who is sitting behind the steering wheel. I have to say I feel the present grid of drivers some of the best I have ever watched. I am however frustrated by the FIA and amateur stewards who referee our sport, the inconsistencies are incredibly transparent and often ruin an otherwise great show.
Having lived in Italy for many years, I love the passion the Italians have for the sport and have fond memories of test days at Monza sitting on the tyres as F1 cars flashed by not 20 feet away.
I look forward to joining in on some of the debates raging on the forum and offer no apologies for my desire to see the very talented Lewis take the title! How good for the sport would it be to see him become the youngest driver to take the title this year.

Hi everyone, after some months reading the BB it was time for me to join. Well, that and that I finally have a mail account that is neither gmail/hotmail/yahoo nor my work account.
Although I have possible seen something before that, the first season that I more or less followed was 1992. I have been on and off F1 since then, depending on what I was doing at the time, and this is the first year that I have managed to see all races of the season (and without bad luck will be my first full season).
My favourite driver since I started to watch will be Schumacher, although I have not seen enough of previous contenders to say if any of them was better or not. My current favourite driver will be Alonso (without taking into account his whinning). Having a favourite driver does not stop me for liking/acknowledging other drivers ;)
And that would be all for now.

Hi Everyone!
Since this is my first post I guess I should introduce myself.
I am 36yrs (old?!) and have been following F1 since I was almost 4yrs old (Well it was James hunt's year, not so good for Lauda though!!) I grew up in a small town on the south-east coast of England...... which explains why I now live in Amsterdam!!
I am not really a follower of any particular team or driver, more the sport(?) in general, the technical aspects and, strangly enough, the politics. Having said that I would like to see a British driver win the championship this year, after all it's been 12 years(!) since Damon Hill won it. (I know it's been longer since Senna, but I got dumped on by a Brazilian girl lately so I'm kind of anti-Brazilian at the moment!!!)
Please Brazil don't take that personally! By the way, is the Brazilian rain forest just a thin strip down the middle of the country or am I getting my wires crossed?!!
Next year should be fascinating due to the changes in the regulations, but then again, everyone said that at the end of "97 and look what happend then! I guess that we'll just have to wait and see. However the chances of a Jordan/Midland/Spyker/Force India beating a McLaren or Ferarri are smaller than that of Nigel Mansel throwing a birthday party for Nelson Piquet!!!
Here's looking forward to some interesting debates. (Sheesh!that makes me sound like a real saddo!!!)

hi,
my name is Joel, 19 years old from germany.
my favorite drivers are Kazuki Nakajima and Nelson Piquet Jr.
hopefully Takuma Sato is coming back next year.
the first time I watched Formula 1 was about 1994, but really intensive since 1996/1997.
at the beginning I supported M.Schumacher, but it became too boring...
I liked his brother even more.
but my favorite of all time is Jacques Villeneuve.
my favorite teams were Jaguar and Minardi, who both retired already
the reason why I was searching an international/english forum is, that the community seems to be a bit larger, than the german and I also want to improve my english skills (so feel free to correct my mistakes

Hi, I'm from Spain living in Amsterdam. I'm 32 years old. I've been reading for a long time and just two days ago i registered.
I like Alonso, but i also like how Lewis drives (don't like the guy's big mouth though). From the old times I like Prost and Mansel and have some issues with Schumi (although the guy was a master - again his personality blew it...)
My favourite team has always been Ferrari, I love the red cars.

Hello everybody. I am a 19 year old F1 fanatic living in Derby, UK.
I have watched F1 since i was 3 years old and have always been a Ferrari fan, as far as I can remember it just because their cars were red and that was my favourite colour.
Of the current F1 field I'd say that my favourite drivers are Massa, Kimi, Alonso and Vettel.
Hi, I'm 20 years old from Salisbury, England. I've been following f1 closely since about '03 but I've never actually been to a motor race live yet except for one memorable occasion where I was more interested in seeing Damon Hill who was then world champion (I must've been about eight) than I was at seeing the racing. Which I
think might have been monster trucks.
My favourite drivers are currently Seb Vettel and Robert Kubica and my favourite team is possibly BMW. Favourite driver from the history of motor racing is I think for me, Gilles Villeneuve. When I started watching f1 I delighted in supporting any driver/team who was driving where they shouldn't be and I still get a thrill from seeing that hence me laughing in Brazil at the Force India holding up the McLaren.

On that premise I also loved Jordan - though that may have primarily been because I liked their bright yellow cars and my second nephew also happens to be called Jordan.
As for media saints, Lewis Hamilton anybody? Gaaaah! I had to embark on a magazine hunt earlier because Tesco had sold out of Autosport and so had Smiths and I went to a little newsagent and I got the
last one. It's
Friday for heavens sake - and they've all sold out! I was a little surprised to be honest...
By the way, try using that spellchecker. It's mildly amusing what it doesn't know.

Hi
I'm Lila and I haven't been a newbie in forever so please don't judge me if I get stuck in straight away!!!
I've been an F1 fan for the guts of 18 years now and my heroes are Jim Clark, Alain Prost and Michael Scumacher. The current drivers I follow are Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button and Felipe Massa (so you can imagine how I'm feeling about the 2008 season

) and the teams I follow are (surprise surprise) Renault, Honda and Ferrari, which is actually a genuine coincidence!!!
I'm a regular poster on other F1 sites but I fancied a change, and as I am an avid Autosport reader I thought this would be the best place to come, there doesn't seem to be the usual bitchiness one finds on most of these other sites.......
F1 is my passion; I live, breath and sleep it, and I'm so excited about the sport right now, with the technical reg changes for next year, with the unprecedented amount of talent we have on the grid, with F1 returning to its spiritual home.............

Hello! I've just joined. I am a FIA steward. My favourite sports are Croquet and Dressage. I don't really like motor racing it is too dangerous. But I am a big fan of Ferrari ever since nice Mr Todt gave me one after meeting me at Mr Mosley's house party. I think the military uniform I was wearing really impressed them, Max saying he would like to have one himself! Anyway I became a Steward because it gave me something to do and it meant travelling to far away places and meeting famous people. I was assured no experience was necessary and as I came from a country where we didn't have a circuit I obviously had what it takes. Now after a season of watching GPs I must say my favourite drivers are Raikkonen and Massa but I don't like that Hamilton guy he's much too reckless, what he did in Spa nearly had my colleagues reaching for their heart pills and forced Kimi to crash, it won't do, lead from the start or stay in your place boy behind the nice red cars. I'm going to Bernies soon to discuss the new points system, I think something similiar to the dressage scoring with style points would be good, extra points for red cars and deductions for having Ron Dennis in your pit. Thats enough about me I've got the video of the Brazil race to watch as we are reassessing the incident involving car 22 on the last lap as it appears it overtook on the inside of the last corner without leaving us enough time to think of a penalty!

Hello to you all.

(I was never able to register previously due to my internet-based email address ).
Looking forward to engaging all of you in suitably constructive and reasoned discussions.
