Hello! Nice to meet you guys!
My name is FuangPing, living in Tokyo, Japan.
I am off course big fan of Jarno Truli & Timo Glock who belong to Toyota!
In 2008, I was big fan of Honda, too.
However, as you know, it disappeared... it made me so disappointed. it can't be helped though..
Anyway, I always imagine that someday drivers' of Toyota will mount on the top of the platform.
I believe that the time will come one of these days ;)
In Japan, unfortunately there are not so many F1 fans, so I can not talk with about it with my friends usually.
That's why I'm here.
I'd like to talk about F1 with you guys!
Thank you!

Hello and I am new here. What a very good idea to be given the opportunity to introduce oneself. Dad is Austrian and Mum is British and I grew up in both countries. The first race I ever saw was Monza 1970 and after that I have been following F! very closely and with much enthusiasm. Came across Autosport in 1976 and what a different setup it was then indeed. Here is to 2009...cheers!

Hi all,
as a new boy I have to say something about myself. I am 45 now and a lifetime car nut as long as I remember myself. First time I read about F1 in 1973 and started to follow it regularly four years later. About WRC I don't remember exactly but it was about in the same time. It was quite an unique hobby for a kid in Soviet Union (or to be more precise - Estonia) as there was virtually no coverage in papers. Quite the opposite - professional motor racing was considered as a "way damned capitalists make profits on account of drivers' lives". But that made it more interesting and all the gathered bits more valuable. You can see it as a sort of resistance if you want but for us it was simply a passion. As long as I know my buddies then are still having a passion about motor racing.

Hello all and glad to now be here with all of you. Been following F1 for a little over ten years now and enjoyed it all the time. Wish you all well this new year.
Hi all
Just wanted to say hello to all the folks on here. Some of you may know me from other F1 forums. If so drop me a line.
Think I used to be on here years ago but under a different name which I can't remember so I've started from scratch again!

Hi all!
I have been an ardent follower of F1 since the late fifties when I became hooked on the ups and downs of BRM. (Showing my age now!). Over the years I have had many favourites, beginning with Graham Hill at BRM and thereafter.
My most colourful favourite was undoubtedly Andrea de Cesaris who I always thought was underrated and was held back only by a lack of decent equipment. During the eighties and early nineties I penned many a letter to Autosport and Motoring News protesting about the unfair comments he received from various scribes and commentators. It was all good fun and I am sure that Nigel Roebuck, David Tremayne, James' brother and manager at the time, Peter Hunt, and even Derek Warwick will recall my angry words not just by letter, but to the eternal credit of all the guys, by telephone. Around this time I was contacted by, sadly, the late, Stephen Wade, who went on to form the Andrea de Cesaris Fan Club. Happy days!
Today, I am older but probably no wiser, and applaud the return to slicks and simplified aerodynamics but would prefer they went even further with the reduced aero to rely, much more, on mechanical grip.

Hey everyone. Pennsylvania's only F1 fan here. (or so it seems)
Grew up in the U.K. 'till I was 11.
Went to my first F1 race at Brands Hatch 1964 with my awesome dad. R.I.P 08-13-07
Been hooked ever since.
Gutted that Mike (my dad) didn't get to see Kimi and Hami stake their claim to fame.
He would have been so proud!
Have browsed this board for some time, finally decided to chime in.
Go team USF1.

Hi everyone,
I’m 28 year old from Thailand. I just started following F1 (full season) in 2008. I support BMW (since BMW-Williams to BMW Sauber F1 Team). My favorite drivers are JPM, Ralf Schumacher, Nick Heidfeld , Robert Kubisa and all BMW drivers ^^' . I also like Sebastian Vettel. I hope my first race will come true soon.

Hi everyone!
I'm FranchittiFan, or FF, or Paul, or Oi you over there, I'll answer to pretty much anything

I'm fairly sure there are some around here who may recognise me ;)
I've been a fulltime F1 fan for very nearly 17 years (my first Grand Prix was the 1992 South African). I have hazy memories of the 1991 season and Nigel Mansell's hat trick but my earliest F1 memory is the 1987 British Grand Prix when my father and grandfather were going crazy over Mansell's wonder charge on Nelson Piquet
I've always been very interested in the history of F1 and have watched and read as much as I possibly can about the subject. It is that has led me to nominate the 1968 Eagle-Weslake as the most gorgeous F1 car of all time. Today's car just don't come close, although I am pleasantly surprised by the 2009 cars
I hope to have many interesting discussions on a wide variety of subjects and to get to know another bunch of interesting people
Cheers

Ordinarily I'd say I'd definitely be there for the live sessions, but my new job means I can't say that with any certainty. My previous job allowed me pretty much every weekend off, but my new one requires weekend shift work, which is going to mean lots of recording and lots of avoiding results!
But if I can pop in and see what's going on, I shall, particularly if things get a little boring on track ;)

Before I start a new thread...maybe it fits in this thread...
For me it would be interesting, how users here came to motorsports...
My story: I got a book from my parents to my 9th birthday...it was the "Grand Prix Story 1981" of Heinz Prüller...I still know the subtitle...it was translated: "Piquet World-Champion - Reutemann betrayed - Why Lauda drives again"...
I don´t know, if I had some interest for F1 before that...but maybe my parents thought so...
Before that I remember my father watching TV, while he was sitting in the garden...and I remember watching some tragic aftermath of a Grand Prix...with my knowledge now I would say, that it must have been Monza 1978 with the accident of Peterson and the win of Lauda afterwards...
After reading the book I watched the 1982-season...I remember watching the race at Long Beach...but only the beginning...then I had to go to sleep...and I remember the win of Lauda at Brands Hatch 1982...not watching but hearing on the radio...
And I also saw the start of Montreal 1982 live...but I don´t remember Villeneuve´s death...maybe my parents held me away from such informations...

Hello forum.
I am 17 year old from Albania (probbably the only one). I have been visiting this place as a guest for 2-3 months but I thought its better if I register. I am a Ferrari fan and love looking over the F60 topic. I started watching F1 in 1999. I wasnt that into it until 2002 season. Now I can consider myself a hardcore fan of f1

.
What got me interested in F1? I saw the news in 1999 about Michael Schumacher braking his leg. That made interested to know more about this sport. I was only 9 years old back than. My first full race I watched was Malaysian GP which was race Schumi came back racing. Since that race iv been supporting Ferrari/Michael Schumacher. Now I dont mind who wins. I like both Felipe and Kimi. Great drivers. I want to see Felipe clinch 2009 title just because of what happend in 2008
Anyway I'll start posting a few times.

Hi all,
A 35 years old F1 fan from Sweden here...
I've been a fan of the sport since the late 80's.
Started watching properly beginning with the 1990 season. Became an instant fan of Jean Alesi in the Tyrrell because of the first race that year (US GP, Phoenix).
Later, in 1993, realized how great Ayrton Senna was when he did his magic in the McLaren with the sub par Ford engine...
Currently I'm really looking forward to this season, like most of you are I guess....
Another hardcore f1 fan.
welcome mate
I guess that I have to introduce myself a little as well, altough I've written some 50 posts already!
I'm Swedish and 18 years old (born in 1991), and my real name is Jesper. I've followed F1 closely since 1998, but since 2007 I've taken it to a new level, following all sorts of motorsport (after previously being a Footie fan). Due to Michael Schumacher, Ferrari is my team, and to me it doesn't really matter whoever wins as long it's Räikkönen or Massa who does ;)

Hi guys, Ive been watching this forum for a few weeks now and given that the new season has now started I thought I'd better sign up and make my voice heard!
I've watched F1 for maybe 17-18 years now, but only in the last year or 2 has it become my favorite sport, replacing football.
Nothing makes me happier than having a weekend off work (I work shifts), F1 on the Beeb and a fridge full of beer.
Anyway, hi everyone!!!
Hi everybody
Been lurking for a bit, but I thought I'd better introduce myself
First Motor race would be Brands Hatch about 1966. First Grand Prix also Brands Hatch 1968. Didn't miss too many GP's up until quite recently when I lost a bit of faith
Hopefully this season will restore some, but I am also looking forward to the Nostalgia board tickling my fancy
So here is where we introduce our selves!!!
I am 26 years old from Cyprus and have been watching the sport closely since the late 90's (Mika vs Michael).
I am also in the very fortunate position to be one of the two commentators of the sport here on the island
Big ups to the man who mentioned Heinz Prüller. He wrote the biography of my favorite GP driver (referring to Jochen Rindt of course).
My wish is that we have a lovely, clean season (if Brawn are to dominate then so be it, they deserve it) away from penalties, appeals and drama-queen-isms. May the best team and driver win
My name is Will, I am from Columbus ohio and am a fan of McLaren Mercedes. I watch all kinds of racing, F1, Nascar, IRL, World of Outlaws, Prototypes, and anything else that they show on Speed.
I have been watching F1 since 2006 and love to study the history of the sport. My favorite cars of all time are the dominant McLaren MP4/4, Williams Canon cars, and of course the John Player Special Lotus'.
I spend a lot of my free time (which is less and less now) painting cars for Nascar Racing 2003 Season.
Hope to contribute a lot to the forum

Hi all this is my introduction to this forum
I am a long time F1 fan who is getting sick and tired of all the bull that goes on in F1 I have stoped buying Autosport because of all the hype and crap they publish I now read GP Week which is free and online but my main problem at the moment is

Bernie Eccelstone with his stupid medal system and his latest mistake a twilight race in a Monsoon in Malaysia. All I want is good racing I don’t care about the rest I hope the new rules this year improve the racing or I will change my favourite motor sport to NASCAR after Moto GP of course. Anyway I hope to enjoy this forum and talking with you all.
Cya F1 Fan
Welcome guys.. to those of you who also enjoy watching NASCAR I invite you check out our NASCAR only thread which is one of the most pleasant and informative threads on this forum.

Hi everybody!
Well, my name's Edén, I'm spanish (exactly from Granada, but I was living 8 years in Cádiz and two in Sevilla) and before anything I want to apologize for my english (I know it's really far away to be perfect xD).
About me? I'm 23, actually I'm living in Duisburg, Germany (near Düsseldorf, on the west-side of Germany) cuz I'm doing an Erasmus year. I study Telecommunications Engineering and I love Motor-sports, music, climbing, american football,... and maybe it's better to say what I DON'T like
About Formula 1, I just love it, I write the chronicles (or articles, i don't know exactly the word) of every Formula 1 Grand Prix for theF1.com, probably the best Formula 1 website in spanish.
My first experiences were when I was living in Jerez (Cádiz), because the Spanish GP was taking place on the Jerez Circuit (I'm sure some of you can remember it). That's a bit funny, I was borned the 22th of February of 1986 in Granada. One month and half later my parents went with me to Jerez, cuz they were living there. One week later, the 13th of April, the first GP of Spain in Jerez taked place. The winner was Ayrton Senna for just 0''014 over Nigel Mansell. Senna was driving a Lotus-Renault. Maybe it's destiny, maybe not, but my favourite ever driver is "Magic" Senna and my team, as my nick-name says, is Lotus. At least funny
Nowadays, my favourite driver should be Fernando Alonso but... I don't know why, but it's Kimi Räikkönen. I also like Fernando, and I enjoyed a lot season 2005 when they were the main drivers. Anyway, I push Kimi and Ferrari and I hope they'll do something to catch the unbelievable Brawn GP (and also Kubica's BMW, Williams, Toyota, Red Bull,...

)
Greetings from Germany!

Hello!
I'm a British student who has followed Formula 1 since 1996, and other forms of motorsport increasingly since then. I was born around the time of a famous team's 1-2 finish at its home Grand Prix.
The first race I watched on TV was the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix (hardly the most typical of F1 races), and I've seen every event since the start of the 1997 season. I'm also interested in the lengthy period beforehand, and have tried to make up for my lack of live experience. I've only been to one event so far - the 2005 British Grand Prix - but hope to go to more in the future.
Anyway, I hope that I can become involved in some good discussions about the sport here!

Hi Everybody!
I'm Darryl from Birmingham, UK.
I have been a lifelong motor racing fan. I tried karting when I was 8 but I didn't get very far - I just didn't have the chops to be a racing driver.
I currently follow (in order of personal popularity): NASCAR, MotoGP, WSBK/SSWC, F1, BTCC, GP2, BSB, Le Mans 24Hr/ALMS/LMS, Indycar, WTCC and WRC/IRC
I work as a trainer/tutor and I am interested in scifi, history, photography, astrophysics and astronomy, ornithology and animal welfare.
In my spare time I enjoy reading and writing, messing about with computers and motorbikes. To keep fit I like to cycle and swim.
My favorite motorsports personalities are (in no particular order): Ayrton Senna, Paul Tracy, Tony Stewart, Valentino Rossi, Jenson Button(I NEVER lost the faith), Jackie Stewart, Lewis Hamilton, Carl Edwards, Stirling Moss, Bernie Ecclestone, Andy Priaulx, Troy Bayliss, Ken Tyrrell, Sir Frank Williams, Patrick Head, Matt Bishop, Martin Brundle, oh and last but not least, Murray Walker.
My current top villain is Max Mosley because he takes the term "F1 circus" far too literally!
I am looking forward to making some new acquaintances and getting into some juicy debates here...
P.S. I was mightily relieved to see Carl Edwards get out of his car and run across the finish line on Sunday night.

Shades of Ricky Bobby indeed (shame about that movie though).
Hi guys,

Heya to everybody here!
I'm a Yank living in Virginia Beach. Been getting more and more into motorsports since about 2005. I'm pretty much certifiably obsessed as of now.
I love just about everything open-wheel. F1 first and foremost, but I'm also always paying attention to all the junior European categories, plus IndyCar and A1GP as well.
I've also been getting into bike racing recently. Just cuz it was on, I watched a few AMA Superbike races a couple years ago and thought it was pretty exciting stuff. Now I'm very big into World Superbikes, and I follow MotoGP(but find it miles less entertaining than WSBK).
