Hey Autosport.com,

I've been following the news from your homepage for years (must say it's one of the best sources on the web) and now I finaly joined the forum. (Should have done that ages ago) ;p Been to the Melbourne Grand Prix this year (might make a story about it cause it was awesome (Met Whitmarsh, Dennis, Haug, Kovolainen, Hamilton, Sutil, Fisichella and Jordan.)

Now I'm back, after half a year Australia, in the Netherlands.

Already made some posts here, must say the speed of replies is stunning, I can't really keep up with the discussions yet lol but for now I'm mostly reading. Anyway I <3 Autosport.com

Kind regards,

Hey

Sydneysider here. Been a fan since I was a youngster. Grew up on Ayrton and then moved across to Damon Hill and then to Mika.

These days im a Lewie fan, retracing my steps back to McLaren.

As for the old days, nobody touches Jochen Rindt. I wasn't old enough to see him race in person but just through reading about him and seeing videos of him i think hes gotta go down as one of the greats. Amazing skill.

Look forward to posting many more times.

Hi everybody,

a long-time lurker here too wave.gif

I have been following F1 since mid-90's and have seen almost every race since then.
KimiFan91
Hey all, also a lurker hehe. smile.gif My real name is Ben but since that was taken I decided to settle on my username. Have watched F1 since 1998, just a shame the excitement of the actual races has decreased so much since then. I still love the sport though and look forward to contributing to the community!
The Oracle
Hey all Tom here, chose my name as most of the people in my circle of friends would ask me on anything motorsport releated which I would usually be able to asnwer fairly accuratley, have been watching motor sports since I was about 5, criied when Gilles Villeneuve was killed and follwed the 27 Ferrari since then, currently I am a supporter of the underdog, will be cheering on Button as a Somersetter myself and look forward to a good close season next time out.

Outside F1 I watch pretty much anything I can BTCC, WTCC, DTM, Moto GP, Sportscars - I just want to see good racing.

Talk you all soon.

Hi wave.gif
also been lurking a while- relatively new to F1 (5 years now) and follow most things on 2 or 4 wheels!
Love_that_Kimi
Never lurked, just love to talk racing with others!

I'm a Canadian girl who primarily loves F1 but also follow ALMS (Mosport is the place to be! smile.gif ), IRL, Atlantic series (friend of mine is a driver), BMW Formula (North American), WRC etc. Anything BUT Nascar. down.gif I have a child with Asperger's and I'm always interested in anything anyone can tell me about it.

And I thoroughly enjoy red wine. Thoroughly. stoned.gif

Hello. wave.gif

Long-term motorsport fan, I love BTCC, F1, WRC, Superbikes, Le Mans and Moto GP.
Adie
Evening everyone - popping in to say hello.

Been a long time lurker here, getting fed up with other sites and the rabid fanboy-isms. This looks like a place with reasoned opinions...YAY!

So, little bit about me - long time F1 fan. Unashamedly a Button fan, loved the start of the year - it's err..difficult at the moment!!!

Also, run a blog F1TailPipe.com and Twitter feed, always happy to hear from other F1 fans. Sadly the blog's not updated anywhere near as often as I'd like (Work keeps me busy).

Anyway - rambling now. Howdy folks!!!

DePortago
Hello everybody. I´m 29 years old and I´m from Spain. I´ve been watching F1 since 1992, but unfortunately there were no chance to see F1 usually in my country, so I had to manage myself to watch some seasons in the past. Previously to the arrival of Alonso (why do you call him FRED?) there was only motorbikes, but now is a very different situation, which is possitive for all the people that love motorsport, and specially F1.

I consider Alonso the best driver at the moment, probably not the fastest (Raikkonen), but the most complete and technical driver in the F1 nowadays. I like too much Seb Vettel and Robert Kubica, and sometimes (when he´s not doing crazy things) Lewis Hamilton. From the past drivers, I enjoyed very much with Senna, Mansell and Prost (who is my favourite driver ever). I like motorbikes too, but people like Pedrosa and Lorenzo don´t count on my sympathy. By the way, you guys can expect Dani Sordo winning the next WRC, specially if Loeb gop to F1!
sawyer_si
Hi guys!

I'm form Slovenia and because of the impact Italian media had on our region, i've been a Ferrari fan for almost every of my 20 ages. Honestly, i was Ferrari supporter before MS's era, although it certainly has a lot to do with me staying one. And it's too late to change my mind now, drivers come and go but i will always stay Ferrari fan smile.gif

Have been following this site for a few years now and it's great, but I've only decided to register to forum today, even if I've been following it as well.

My Blog:
I’m a mad keen F1 fan who has been addicted to the sport for 20 years. I watch every race and follow the sport in every way I can.
My good friends at Sidepodcast must be sick of me posting all the time and suggested I start a blog. As it turns out, I have a keen interest in numbers and I haven’t seen many blogs that look at the race statistics and really analyse them. So I thought if I must have a blog then I would use my special powers and discuss the race from a statistical point of view… As an added bonus I take part in the Fantasy Racers league so you’ll get an analysis of those numbers too ;)

As always, I’d love to hear what you think and especially if we can discuss my analyses that would be great – but please no nasty stuff! So what are you waiting for? Visit Making Up the Numbers now, have a look around and feel free to leave a comment!

F1 claim to fame:
- My mate's mate is Chris Amon's son (and I have met Mr. Amon at a Car rally)
- I know a Toyota Racing Series Driver who knows all the Kiwi's racing internationally (NZ drviers are a tight-knit community)
- My uncle wrote to Enzo Ferrari and met with Frank Williams and Ron Dennis (he used to have a big F1 book collection including a complete set of Autocourse!)
- My workmate's Mum was Robert Kubica's Doctor. A signed cap has been promised but as yet, undelivered :-(

What's with the Nickname?
It's not what you think it might be!

'RubberGoat' is the literal translation of the Danish word for a Digger/JCB/Backhoe - a Gummiged (where 'gummi' is 'rubber' and 'ged' is 'goat'). We were asked by my English family and my wife's Danish family to think of a nickname for email and Skype that was easy to remember for both families. So we chose 'RubberGoat' as it made me laugh when I first heard about it...

About Me:
I have been an F1 fan since I was a young'un and I have always tried to watch the races live ... I have even rushed home from a holiday early to catch a race!

I've only been to one race, the European GP in '93 at Donington Park. For those who don't remember, that was the race where Ayrton Senna started 4th, overtook all the cars in front to lead after one lap and lapped the whole field in an awful car. We stood at the Craner Curves and after the race he stopped right in front of me because his flag got caught in his rear wheels - I have a photo somewhere...

I'll always support the drivers who have a go and put a big effort in - something which only a few of today's drivers can manage!

Being an F1 in NZ was difficult - the European races started at Midnight on Sunday night (NZ is 12 hours ahead), so nobody really watches them. Worse still, you normally have to wait until Monday evening after work to see the race so you have to ignore ALL media and tell your workmates not to blab the result to you!

But Salvation from F1 Hell arrived in the form of a lovely Dane who I married and convinced me to move there ... and now I can experience F1 coverage in Danish and German, but at least watch it live!

I look forward to discussing motorsports with you biggrin.gif

Cheers,

Gavin

Hi everybody, a little about myself. I'm Egg, a nickname I've had since I was small, I live near Manchester, my driver is Alonso, my team Williams.
I attend at least two GPs a year, this year it was Silverstone and Monaco - a good choice I feel!
I like a lively debate, but not so keen when things start getting childish... hopefully that will be avoided here.

One last thing... Mark P Hughes is God!
Archybald
All im gonna say is

Wow. lots of new people.
that's fantastic.
a big welcome to you all.
enjoy.
King Six
"King Six" here. I dunno where I got the name, It might have been from CoD 2 where I heard it, I think. Also registered on f1technical as the same name.

Mostly a McLaren fan, but also quite anti-Ferrari, pro-Underdog/Small teams. Although I don't really like Brawn. Especially with the Virgin connections, Branson annoys me. And the whole fairytale story is just lame. I'm too cynical to have time for crap like that.

Ah.. what else. I used to watch WRC all the time, way more than F1. Sort of lost interest once it started losing so many teams, and then Subaru leaving was the last straw really. I always hated those stupid French Smallish/Hatchback cars and now they're dominating and it sucks. Want to see a return of the Impreza vs Evo days!

Also bring group B back, even if I wasn't born during that era.

I watch NASCAR sometimes, I guess you can appreciate that Oval racing isn't so lame if you understand it.

wave.gif Hello all. Just signed up.
I'm hopefully aiming to become an f1 journalist and studying journalism now. I am f1 obsessed and there is no point denying it. I am also a huge Massa fan and will defend that passionately (also soft spot for Kimi and Fernando). Also a Ferrari supporter and have always been. I do support underdogs though-STR second favourite team. Also, love looking back through the past of f1 probably as I was only born in 1990 and have became in awe of Gilles and Mansell but Nuvolari and Senna are just true legends in my opinion.
Mia 01
Hi, Mia 01 here!

I´m from Sweden, been a fan of F1 for many years.
Nowdays my favorite driver is Kimi, before that it was Mikka.

I´m looking forward to post on this board!

Hi, i'm Daniel, only seen these forums today.

Been reading autosport since about 1988 or so and been to a number of gp's, first was 1990 British, 91-95 British, most recent was Spanish 09 (won a trip with Hilton Racing so only cost us about 200 euros ! smile.gif ), China 08 and been to Spa 91, 92 (never forget Ayrton in the wet in 92), 93 and 94.

Been following motorsport since I was old enough to sit up in a chair by myself, my dad and his best mate have been following since '68.

I have a picture of myself about six years old at paddock hill bend and been going to Brands, Lydden and Silverstone ever since. I've been to a number of BTCC and Rallycross meets since about 88 ish and try to get to a few meets a year. Also love Volkswagens, too and have done a trackday at Brands, Paddock HB feels like falling off a cliff !

I'm on sidepodcast (hi rubber goat !) occasionally and follow the twitter feeds of various drivers.

Hi all I am new member smile.gif wave.gif

I tried to find more appropriate sub-forum to post this but I couldn find any. I am 39. I am not native speaker so please forgive me. I am trained mechanic and I have private repair shop I also maintain race cars. And yes I was a world champion once (no, no, no it wasnt F1, nothing like that not even motorsports related, but the title is still World Champion and I kinda wore it with proud. Where I earned it, it will remain a secret for now, it was a sports title though)

O other things, well I like F1, Nascar, Indycar, WRC, LMS, you name it I like it. I have a lot of commitments, huge fammiliy and all that so I seldom travel, but I watch races on TV.

Also Im a certified hypohondriac and ATM Im scared as $hit from this horror swine flu. God help us, we're doomed. mad.gif

Hello!

Name is Rory, 26 ages old smile.gif, and I've been watching F1 since about 2003, as it was on TV on Sunday mornings when I was hung-over in my London flat.

I have since moved back to Canada, where I grew up, so I have to "Find" all the races I can via the Net, as I refuse to watch it on SPEED tv. Quite glad that the BBC is covering it now, but eve ITV was much better then SPEED smile.gif

Must confess, I am a Kimi fan, but I also like Rosberg, DC, Alonso, Sutil and Vettel. Teams wise I quite liked Brawn's one off, but I will follow Mclaren, Redbull and Williams.

I also really enjoy the technical side of F1, and the technical history (Such as the effect that Super Aguri had on this years Brawn).

My goal is to get F1 popular in western Canada some how.
steph90
World Champion I had swine flu not too long ago. It was just like a cold for me, some of my family had symptoms a bit worse but even so it was ok.

JETSOLVER
Been poking around, and since I was compelled by an urge...

40 something male Canadian, ex Can Air Force (Hornets mostly), F1 fan by birth (Dad saw the greats in Europe in 59 and 60 while avoiding growing up), first recorded word was "car", and followed everything from NHRA/AHRA drag racing to Aussie touring over these long years. Built a few machines that got good reviews, owned a few of the same, and am one of those for whom driving a day away is a real privilege. And that avatar pic? Right off the intake cover of my most favoured toy...;)
Buttoneer
And of course you have a nice GP confirmed for 2010. Welcome.
ButtonGod
Hi there.

I'm a 31 year old F1 nut and as you might guess from my username, I am a massive Jenson Button fan. I have followed him since 1998 and my faith in him was obviously repaid this year as he became WDC. I was a BMW Sauber fan and also a Brawn GP fan but since both teams no longer exist, I don't currently have a favourite team.

2010 should be an exciting season and I can't wait for it!
Mr.Fiasco
Ahoy there dudes.

I'm a 17 year old fan of f1 from South Africa(and no, elephants and lions don't roam free). Following f1 since I was 11, favourite driver back then was JPM but now I'm a fan of Lewis Hamilton and Mclaren. I'm a student and you would be surprised at how many f1 fans there are here. wave.gif

Will be awaiting the 2010 f1 season with great enthusiasm.

Greetings, I'm "CSquared." I've followed F1 since 1989. I also follow WRC and MotoGP, and am into history as well as the contemporary stuff. Some of my favorite drivers are Phil Hill, Gurney, Clark, Lauda, Prost, Senna, and Montoya. Big fan of Chapman and Team Lotus, as well. Being in America, where F1 is not so widely known, I'm always excited to have the chance to talk to knowledgeable F1 fans.
