Hello, I'm TheF1PERSON. During the last year I became increasinlgy obsessed with F1. However, in the Sports section of the games forum I used lots, there are very little people who share my interests and only 1 thread to talk about F1, making things more limited.
I have bought 3 issues of Autosport in the last four months and I browse the website regularly. I appriciate I won't fit in immidiately, but given time, people may regocnise me more often.

Hi, I'm Tone, 27, been an F1 fan since the late 80s (remember some Senna/Prost/Mansell era stuff as earliest F1 memories).
Big fan of Ferrari and Schumacher (don't hold that against me, actually been banned from some motorsport so-called forums for even admitting that), but don't worry, I'm also a supporter of much of the field. I don't particularly support the Brits above others as I don't believe in blind and overblown patriotism, but that doesn't mean I never cheer Jenson or Lewis.
Also been a follower of BTCC on and off but especially since ITV4 started doing the full day coverage of the races and all the support events, along with whatever other motorsport I can find on my limited range of freeview channels.
Been trying as best I can to follow the career of Will Bratt since I met him at Donington in 2006 when he was racing in Formula Renault UK, I guess with me being in Nottingham, he and superbiker Leon Haslam are closest I have to 'local' boys.
*I did also post a version of this in the Nostalgia section Intro thread*

Thank you. Doesn't mean I don't support Jenson and Lewis, but it can't be denied that both have made mistakes (Jenson with his dealings in contracts, Lewis in lying to officials etc).

Hey all, just joined the forum here. I'm primarily a Lewis Hamilton and Mclaren fan, and have been watching F1 since around 1988... I was a fan of Senna as a child manily because my father and brother were Mansell fans and Senna was the dominant force when I first started getting into the sport lol. I am a member on a couple of other forums but am sick of most threads becoming either Lewis, Ferrari, or Mclaren bashing topics lol..Hopefully this place is a little more productive lol..I have been to quite a few GP's in my time and have been lucky enough on occassion to get paddock access and meet a few drivers.. I am a keen photographer and my main interest being motorsport photography..Look forward to dscussing the world of Formula One.

Hi guys, my name is Owen and I though I should sign up before the season starts. I started avidly watching f1 from mid 2006, supported Renault (my Dad's car was a Renault) then followed Alonso to McLaren and started following Hamilton. (As if you didn't have enough Lewis fans).
Looking forward to testing and some tasty politics this season.

Hello all, I've always loved motor racing, but only started to follow F1 properly since 2005. My favourite racing driver is Kimi Raikkonen because he's exciting to watch and a gentleman through and through. He's one of the very few F1 WDC in the last decade who has managed to achieve this without resorting to the kind of tactics that other WDC's have needed. He also got his WDC in a new team with a team mate who was also going for the WDC (until the latter part of the season). Now that he's gone to WRC, I am not sure who to support. I think Seb Vettel is the driver I follow now, mostly because he reminds me of Kimi. I am going to follow WRC a lot more closely now. I hope Kimi comes back to F1, but I have the feeling that he's a much, much happier person in WRC and so if he does decide to stay where he is, then I hope he does well. I have been following the posts on this board for a few days and you all seem to be quite a nice bunch, so I look forward to posting here.

Hello Everyone,
I've been reading the forum for some time now and an Autosport reader for longer - I still have the copy with Jean Alesi on the cover after his win and a few older issues with the teams for the then upcoming new season. It's great to look back at what were cutting edge F1 cars in their day. Call me sad if you like!
I've been a MSA official for ten years or so and have attended the last dozen or so British GP's but alas, only one abroad which had to be Spa of course. Eau Rouge has to be seen - the TV does not do it justice. For accessibility to teams and drivers the touring cars are a good bet. I expect to be doing the MotoGP this year and that is supposed to be really good. The Superbikes are brilliant too!!
My one small claim to fame is that I chatted to a young chap one Saturday of the British GP who was sitting on his own on a wall behind the pits swinging his legs with no-one noticing him. We sat there for 20 mins or so when his brother came along and told him his dad was looking for him. Guessed who it was yet? We half-heartedly agreed to meet up again at the same place when he got his drive in F1 and have a celebratory beer. When he won his first GP it would be a glass of champagne. Well, he went on to do both and a world championship. I haven't had the beer yet!!
Yep. It was LH. and Nick needs a mention as he is/was a smashing chap. LH was as pleasant a guy as you want to meet with his feet firmly planted on the ground Ok he was in Formula Renault at the time but a leopard can't change it's spots...
Here's to good conversation and debate...

Hello all from North Texas, USA. Lifelong open wheel lover. Grew up on CART and introduced to F1 around '91ish. Can't get enough! Three US Grand Prixs and the final REAL Indy 500 before the split notched in the wall. Couple of NASCAR (hey it was FREE!) events here at Texas Motor Speedway to help ease the urge. At the aborted IRL race at TMS too. Proud to be an American but oh so sad we did not embrace F1!!! Have family within walking distance of Indy and miss F1 SO bad!!! Just can't afford Canada this year or I'd be there... No real F1 team allegance. Seem to be very much in the minority but Alonso is my guy. He won me over beating Schui. Going to feel VERY strange rooting for the prancing horse. Even though I am glad the Schui/Brawn/Todt empire is toppled I do hope the old man wipes the floor with the young 'uns in his return. Just so long as FA still wins out... Too much said already so over and out!

Hello,
American F1 and sportscar fan here, finally decided to get off the lurking bench and jump into the fray. I've got a Masters in Racecar Aero and previously worked in NASCAR (which I won't even try to make excuses for!) and at a variety of levels so hopefully I can contribute some insight from that perspective. hopefully I can add something to the conversation in the future which actually makes it into the archives! Not really a fan of any particular driver or team, I usually root for the best engineers and/or the promising underdog. (So Red Bull and McLaren get some love from me.) I'm also a proponent of moving racing toward a sustainable future in ways that don't ruin the visceral excitement of the sport. LMP's seem to be doing this far better than F1 at the moment which I hope will change. Outside racing I'm a fan of Corvettes and Triumph motorcycles, of which I have one of each. The Triumph even moves under its own power!
See you around,
Chris

Hello racing fans,
I work for helmet manufacturer Schuberth, Germany and also like to jump in some discussion, maybe i can provide some inside, or at least a nice story from time to time.
Personally I´m a fan of the formula1 grandmaster Michael Schumacher - but for professional reasons I´ll try to stay fully neutral - as long as the winner wears our helmet ;-)
If anyone´s got questions on our products - just drop me a comment
Hi,
Working for some small racing garage in Poland, we do GT cars and vintage rally cars, although more enthusiast than pro.

Wow! I'm impressed that this threasd goes back seven years. I too have have lurking for a while and my conscious finally got the better of me.
I started follwowing F1 in the Hunt, Lauda, Andretti era so you can probably guess I'm 50 someting (It's like Tom Petty said: "if you're not getting older, you're dead.") I sort of lost interest for a few years -- for whatever reason -- and resumed follwing the sport around 1997 or so.
Looking forward to interacting and to getting into the Paddock Club if the Pit Goddess will let me!

Im Topper and from Denmark.
Acutally not new to the forum, been reading it for years, but never made an account untill now. Been a following F1 since 1993 and been McLaren supporter since then, would never support any other teams, but tend to cheer for some drivers now and then, was quite happy for Webber getting his first win, and actually looking forward to see how Kobayashi will do.
Other then F1 I have followed Le Mans since 1999, one of those who stay up and watch all 24 hours, well untill I got married, still try to but not always she let me lol

Hello, I've been watching F1 since I was a kid and it was on the BBC originally - now I'm in my 20s and I love it more than ever. Had a few years out of watching it, but last season got the blood flowing again. Used to watch the BTCC quite a bit too, not anymore. Had a wee spell where I watched IndyCar, not anymore. At some point I'd definitely like to get into racing a car. Anyway, have lurked Autosport for quite a while - figured it was time to sign up. =)
Hey guys n gals!
Long time browser, first time poster here. I'm your typical F1 nut who doesn't know anyone in my RL who really follows it. Hence why I've joined up here! So I can bitch about the FIA and defend Webber to the death! Someone's gotta do it! Yes I am an Aussie. Deal with it

Also been a Redbull fan since DC joined but even more so they've got Vettel and Webbo. I have a soft spot for Williams, Rosberg and Alonso too.
It's all about the racing for me though, fanboism aside. I've been watching since I was 8yo and a full-time fan since 97. I love to hate Schumacher but respect what he has acheived. I can't wait to see what Rosberg can do up against him this year. I can't wait to see Vettel & Webber come to blows (it will happen!) even though I like them both. I can't wait to see what Button can do about defending his title. I can't wait to see how the new teams fare. I can't wait to see Alonso in a red car. I can't wait to see the grid girls.
I just can't bloody wait!

Hello there, my name is Pablo, I am from Spain, exactly from the same city as Seve Ballesteros (ever heard of him?).
I am a F1 fan since 2003, yes, since "THE ALONSO EFFECT", and I have learnt a lot about the world of F1 since then. I personally think Alonso is a great driver, just remember he was the youngest ever in everything until Vettel and Hamilton appeared, and I think that he is a great person, always sincere, always genuine.
When he won the WDC in 2005 and again in 2006, showing brilliant performance and quality driving, It was like a dream. To see a spainsh there,
WINNING FORMULA 1 TITLES, and
retiring Michael Schumacher.....
Then he signed with McLaren, and I was very happy with that, because I had never been a Ferrari fan. I was very happy to see him in a great team, the Senna team, and he was the happiest driver too. But nobody could expect what happened....... and now I am supporting him in Ferrari, and against McLaren

(excuse me guys).
Other than that, I am a Medicine student and I like playing golf.
VIVA ALONSO!

Hi! I'm 19 year old motorsports fan from Finland. I started to watch F1 in mid 90's. The first race I remember is '96 Japanese GP where Damon Hill secured his WDC by winning that race. Mika Häkkinen was then third. I started to follow F1 intensively in 1998 when Häkkinen was on his way to his first WDC. My favourite team is Ferrari but I don't have a particular favourite driver. I like both Felipe and Fernando, but as a Finn I liked Kimi too. Besides F1 I follow MotoGP and occasionally WRC and NASCAR.

Anyway I'm 30 from outside London and have followed this sport since I was 8. Despite the gloom from Bahrain I'm hoping this will be a great season. Ive been attacked a few times so far on the boards ( dont upset those schumi fans - I never learn )

Hi everyone!
Another Aussie and Mark Webber defender extoridare, this time from Adelaide! I miss having the GP here and long pine for those great days

I started following F1 in the 90's where Mika Hakkinen and MS went toe to toe and I was firmally planted in Mika's corner.
Along with Mark, I like Nico Rosberg, Felipe Massa, Rubens Barrichello and have recently found myself on the ever growing Jamie Algesuari fan list. We also have a young aussie in the wings (no pun intended) called Daniel Riccardio(sp?) who will hopefully be the next Aussie in F1
My love for all things Green and Gold doesnt stop there - loving all types of motorsport and every Aussie that goes with it....from Casey in the MotoGP to Ryan and Will in the IndyCars, from Adkinson in Rally to Ambrose in the NASCAR.
Also expect when I am allowed into the board that allows me to talk about non racing I shall be bumping up most sports threads but lead the way in any football threads to come our way - 66 days, 13 hours and 39 min till the World Cup......time to get you game on peoples!!!!

So here's to a good year!
Hello!
It's a pleasure to be here reading and learning from all the great analysts of this forum (and also having a laugh with the ocassional fanboys/haters

)
The level of these boards is amazing and i enjoy all the high quality information unbiased posts.
I am 31 years old, and one of those(fewer) spanish fans that loved F1 long before the "FAlonso effect".
I work as mech engineer irl, not that it matters from a fan point of view anyway.
Its going to be a great season.
Nos vemos en el foro,
