I'm mot sure about my USAC Road Racing results from 1961 - and there are quite many gaps also.
Maybe somebody can help here with complete stats.
I have two races at Indy Raceway Park on June 26th, two races at Continental Divide on July 1st,
one race at Riverside on October 15th and two more at Laguna Seca (Pacific GP) on October 22nd.
I'm also looking for the final points scoring.

As I mentioned -- warned might be a better word -- this is merely a draft of the material I have been assembling along with the great help of Bill Green (of the IMRRC) and many others on this series. Errors of omission and commission probably abound since this was basically tossed together some many months ago and updates and corrections haven't been applied that have been found in the meantime. However, at the time it was done, it was based upon the best available information we had at hand. What is needed -- desperately! -- is the info from NSSN (National Speed Sport News) for the USAC series (1958 to 1962, plus a few events in 1963 and later*) since even Competition Press left lots of "details" out (especially in 1959).
Keep in mind that "heats" were treated as SEPARATE races and scored accordingly by USAC.
* Not USAC RRC events, but other events that USAC sanctioned after the series was abandoned at the end of the 1962 season.

I couldn't help noticing that Jack Brabham and Stirling Moss made more in prize money than the series winner Ken Miles or other notables like Dan Gurney, Jim Hall, Bruce McLaren, and Roger Penske. No wonder that Jim Hall was already driving the #66 Chapparal, and that the others would go racing as team owners !
Was this just the race organizers paying to get Sir Jack and Sir Stirling to race? I remember Mike Argetsinger speaking of how Stirling Moss could put butts in the seats as an international racing celebrity. I am not complaining about the practice, just wondering.

You couldn't possibly mail the results from the other years of the USAC road racing championship 1958-1963, could you?
Another of the many projects that got shelved for lack of time. One of the major items I intend to work on this weekend at Watkins Glen is nosing around some more on the USAC RRC events, especially the material in the magazines which have vanished into the mists of time. The IMRRC has a nice cache of such materials. Naturally, that national treasure known as Bill Green continues to be a huge help whenever I get stumped or confused about the politics....
Keep in mind that Brabham and Moss won the two events in the RRC which had the biggest purses.... clever lads....
