It must be very satisfying to run her on the road at last after all the time and effort you've put in.

One question, arttidesco, these images appear a little on the soft side as do some of the Goodwood 2011 transporter images - any reason?

Probably because my mobile phone is getting on for two years old eek.gif

Hi all:

Don´t miss this opportunity!!!
http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Seem to ge a genuine ex-Team Lotus transporter from 1994 final season (I deduct it by its sponsors and Mugen Honda stickers).
Does someone has original period photos?

I've just spent an enjoyable half hour going through this link that Kitkent posted in the collectibles forum. Don't be put off - there are several photos of the real thing as well as of models.

Thanks D-Type,I loved the Maserati birdcage hanging in mid air from a crane to be put onto the top of a too small transporter van!

Sorry to butt into this thread but there seems to be some problem with TNF in that it no longer recognises your name and consequently when I try to reply to you by PM, it says 'no such member'! Could you please PM me your email address? Many thanks

Its the accent (umhlaut or whatever it's called). The software used to ignore the accent and see it as an "o" but it appears to have changed recently - it's called progress! mad.gif

Search MEMBERS for "beginning with BJ" and you'll find him amongst the half dozen.
Tim Murray
A simpler way is to click on his name (to the left of any of his posts) and then click on 'Send Message' from the listed options.

Hi Guys , IT progress is a funny thing....so is languages , in the Danish we have the letters æ,ø,å much to great confusion for foreigners and in German they have the first 2 as equalents ,but an o with 2 dots and an a with " over.(These ar "umlauts") . Anyway I had just found out how to find myself through the BJ suggestion , but with no explanation , now I have it.

I haven't seen pictures of the Scuderia Filipinetti truck before that's in the background of this 1967 Le Mans picture. Anyone got any clearer pictures :

Filipinetti had 2 of them.

The Leyland 90 in the linked brochure appears to have a far shorter wheelbase.
Bjorn Kjer
The link is from its first year 1963
The link also tells of a longer wheelbase = plus 0,5 meters approx.
The car model was as far as I know build untill 1967/68
The Swiss allways had their own width and length due to small streets
The length in the picture shown : the car has an overhang of about 40-45%
Hope this helps.

PS . CCMV is a fantastic site with thousands (?) of colour pictures of lorries.

Good Day; I am not sure if this is a spot to post this but here goes.

Late last week I was over to see Ben Ouellette who runs ‘BMC British Car Specialists’ with his wife Carol. They are narrowing their business to specialize in parts and accessories for the British Mini and have a lot of other British car ‘stuff’ available. I picked up most of the Austin Healey parts they had on hand. Within a year or two they expect to wind-up/close their operation in Smithville, Ontario, Canada and retire.

Anyway, Ben showed me a crate of hydraulic parts for large Austin/Morris/BMC commercial vehicles that he was planning on taking to the local dump. Needless to say, while I have no use for the parts, I was somewhat distressed that all this neat ‘stuff’ was going to be disposed of.

So, with his blessing, I am posting the information here – the parts are for the taking.

All the contact information is below. If you are interested, get in touch with Ben and Carol asap.

Oh yes, do feel free to pass the word around. Note: I have no financial interest; just passing the word.

This truck is owned by John Delane and Mike McCarthy (I think). John Delane and John Dimmer travel together in this restored 1969 Leyland Worldmaster Tyrrell Transporter, and the team has authentic driver's suits, uniforms and team livery.

BTW, They won the Pete Lyons Cup at last year's Rolex Monterey Historics, for authentic presentation and being the cars which best personified the spirit of the Formula One event. The two cars were invited to be part of Ford's Hundredth Anniversary Celebration in Dearborn, MI in June. After that exhibition, the two Johns raced the cars in July at the Second Annual Sommet des Legends at St. Jovite circuit in Mont Tremblant.

Very, very cool...

British registration from 1988 or so. Maranello Concessionnaires? Or a replica? Interesting collection of trophies.

The BRM transporter is the last one Bourne had built and saw it a few years back at Oulton, I beleive it is in Yorkshire somewhere but unsure where.
The HB transporter is the ex Brabham truck converted into a motorhome for Theodore racing then passed on to myself to which we used in the 1983/84 F3 season.

The John Woolfe transporter has (I believe) his Chevron B12 on the top at the front with his Hustler dragster behind. No idea what is on the bottom, but some great pictures here Bodston!

Edited to say: Hustler II on the bottom - see http://www.theaccelerationarchive.co.uk/john/woolfe_01.html lol.gif

blush.gif DOH! I was thinking of F at the beginning.

So who in Britain in 1967 or a year or two later would have a transporter emblazoned with "Ferrari"? And win four large trophies?

So the clues are the location - a British plate & (don't shoot me down in flames) as I believe the sponsor decals only appeared on the Ferrari transporter in 1968

Surely it depends on when the photograph was taken, and the trophies may not have been relevant/contemporaneous at that one point in time, ie won over a period of time. I always understood it was Tony Merrick's truck in the first place, but perhaps I am wrong.

OK point taken - no idea when it was taken. If this, as an Italian registered vehicle is re-registered in the UK it will be given a number plate that reflects the true age according to the UK number plate system.

My original comment the transporter when it first appeared in 1967 it had no sponsor/supplier lettering on it & in 1968 they were there, as on the photograph

It was first registered in the UK on 8/6/00 and was taxed to 11/06 according to DVLA.

The Clarke family of Castle Cary have an impressive fleet of 1950's replica BriSCA F1 Stock Cars. They use this 1937 Fordson V8, says 7V in the programme can that be correct (?), as their transporter, seen at the recent Rare Breeds show at the Haynes International Motor Museum.

Bjorn Kjer
The Fordson (Ford) was produced from 1937-1949. It had either a 4cyl. or a V8 petrol engine of Ford origin. Quite some teams had this model at one time in their carpark , both before and after WWII.

Yes the Rare Breeds programme blurb mentions the Fordson was a most sort after vehicle by racing teams Bjorn, this particular one built in 1937 was an auxiliary fire tender before it became a transporter, according to HPI the engine is 4410 cc.
