So, I am getting tickets this week. clap.gif I'm pretty excited. My first GP!!! cool.gif I wasn't sure that I was going to make it cause I have a course that I will be doing in June but I'm just going to bite the bullet.

I'm taking my camera (of course!) and really want to pick stands from which I can take the best pics. Can anyone help me choose?

This is what's left (in my price range): 22, 31 and 33. (Bronze). If someone can convince me that it's really worth it', I'll consider doing Silver: 10, 12, 21, 24. Does it make that much of a difference?

Thanks

My husband and I recently went through the painstaking decision of deciding which grandstand to choose. We decided to take the plunge and go for #24. We received excellent advice from fellow posters to this list.

Check out the replies to my posting (tanyamarise). One fellow gave the pros and cons of just about every stand and provided a link to a web site that contains photos he took from the different grandstands he has sat in over the years.

It's a fair bit of money, for many people anyway, but we decided to go for it.

Good luck to ya.

I went 2 years ago and was in Silver 24, at the end towards the pits. That's where the action happens, particularly in the support races where people drive their Ferrari 355s into each other in failed outbraking manoeuvres. You also get a good view all the way down the long straight and there's a Jumbotron visible. Definitely worth splashing out a bit extra for.

Looks like I'm going to try to come up with the cashola for #24!!!
Thanks. I appreaciate the info. Tanyamarise, I read the thread and it was extremely helpful. Maybe I will see you there!

Go for the Silver.

My first gp was in 24 - but I moved to section 11 after that and have been there since.

But 24 was great ---- I found the crowds much more "animated", but the views from the Senna corner in 11 made it worth the change.

For the first time in over 5 years, I'm not going this year (will be in the middle of a move) and already I feel sick about it.

I wouldn't be surprised if I show up on race day and get tickets from the scalpers.

Enjoy Velo --- there is absolutely nothing like your first gp -- even better than your first ---ummmm - well, never mind! wink.gif
