John Day made dozens of relatively poor racing car kits years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Brabham amongst those.

While we are on this subject, does anyone have a link to a website of the Hungarian kit manufacturer Kaiser?

They make/made some very interesting and unusual kits, such as this one

The 1966 Brabham was one of the first John Day's kit. I have it!

I dont know of a website for Kaiser , most of thier models are unique to them.

It maybe just me but I seem to see a remarkable similarity between the models produced by the Bizarre company and the kits that are produced by Provence Moulage.

I'm not saying that either is copying the other but it does seem odd; e.g. the Nash Healey Le Mans - not a likely model for any company to produce, but both have!

GP Models are showing that SMTS are going to release a kit/built BT19.

Spark/Bizzare , when one looks at the rangeof models produced and future releases , the similarity to the now defunct PM and Starter ranges is very obvious , though I am sure they would not admit any connection .

The Pinko range of modelcars have just released a selection of LM Sunbeam Alpines , a follow on from thier recent LM MGB , I am sure the originals all eminated in Aubagne .

We visited Provence Moulage for the last time in 2004. They had a very large selection of moulds. These moulds included their own production, as well as those from Starter as well as small brand PM casted models for. All moulds have been sold after their demise. Some may have gone to Norev, some to others. Spark/Bizarre are known also to have hired former staff from leading makers of kits.

Perhaps a bit off-topic, but I found these three happy reminders of 1960s car models in Chater's new shop. They are all 1/24 scale metal models from the Finecast Auto Kit range, built rather nicely by one of Clive's old customers (sadly deceased, and Clive could not remember the chap's name). I have confined my restoration efforts to fixing the Lotus 25's screen, replacing the screen on the Sharknose and fixing an errant front hub carrier.

SE Finecast still make the kits.

I have three old BRM's waiting to be built, and most of a Lotus 25.

I was going to add that, Rob. Buying the models prompted me to Google the Finecast name – it's a shame that their website images do the models so little justice. They are a nice size when made up, and the kit prices are actually far lower than some 1/43 models. If I've got it right this time, here's a picture of my self-built ERA and the T35 Bugatti I bought from Chater's

Er… just a link again, by the look of it. I will get the hang of this in the end!
