I've been to the USGP at Indy twice, but I can't remember how the sections are numbered within the individual stands.

Last year, I sat in the North Vista, Section 36. If I were to sit in the North Vista again this year, but wanted to sit closer to oval turn 4 (or road course turn 1), should I try for tickets with a higher section number or a lower section number?

In other words, are the sections numbered in the direction the IRL cars travel or the direction the F1 cars travel?

I learned my lesson about the importance of section numbers at the Canadian GP a few years ago (great grandstand, bad section) and I want to be sure I get it right this time.

Thanks in advance for any help.

In stands H & J, lower section numbers are towards the finish line. Not sure if the same rule follows for North Vista, meaning low section numbers are closer to first turn.

Why not just call and ask in the ticket office? 1-800-822-4639.

Regards.

I believe the section numbers go counter-clockwise around the oval. Call the IMS ticket office number that crackr posted to be sure though.
