Are private balcony packages for the Monaco Grand Prix worth it. They cost around 2-3000 euro per person per day. Has anyone ever experienced one?

Thank you.

No they are not. Most of them are a rip off. If you want to get a good deal go to the entrance of some of the apartment buildings across the pits and talk to the door-man. I used to go there all the time and paid only about $200 for 3 days access to the roof top. You can't beat beeing on a roof-top overlooking the main-straight , the ascent to Casino square and watching them coming out of the tunnel all from one spot. One our first visit to MC a guy tried to lure us up to one of the apartments right by St. Devote, he wanted $2000 for the full weekend with snacks , buffet and drinks included. He made it sound like a 5 star hotel arrangement. The view wasn't bad, certainly not better than from the roof-top, but the sandwiches were stale and the fruit was old and the appartment stank from cats or dogs. Realizing that this was a rip-off I told the guy in a polite way to stick that sandwich up his hinder, and off we went. About 10 minutes later we got the roof-top deal and we been back ever since.
