Hi all,

for my website I have recently created an off-topic page about the Porsche racing models of the 1964-1971 period. Since I couldn't find a website that lists and explains *all* models, I decided to put together such a page myself.

I'd very much appreciate if any of you Porsche-experts could have a look at it before I put the final version online.

Very good work Rob, about Porsche 907 spyder, it was a private entry of Hans-Dieter Blatzheim during the 1970's season. There was not 907 spyder work's car.

the Bergspyder was the 909, while this is a "topless" 904.

To be homologated as a GT car, Porsche had to build at least one hundred 904s. At the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, the mid-engined 904 made a stunning debut. It was very much in demand, orders came flying in and soon, the car was a sell-out. In order to satisfy some important clients who were "taken in speed" by the success of the 904, Porsche decided to build an extra 20 cars.

IIRC the Bergspyder was début was in the '68 EHCC, while this picture is from 1965. As far as I know, this must be a privateer version of a 904 converted to "barchetta" specifications.

Here's a "special" 917 err... 904 driven by Belgian Roger Vanderschrick during the hill climb of Spa Barisart in 1971:

According to the reports about this 1965 Norisring event (which can be found on my homepage - in German), the 904/8 Spyder was sent by Huschke von Hanstein --> it was a works-Porsche.

List of Porsche 904,906 etc...www.classicscars.com, they also made a book 904.

Hi Fans,
sorry, but the spyder on top foto, with Nr.2., it is a "Bergspyder", with nick-name "Kangaroo"....
"Kangaroo" were this cars:

- 906-003
- 906-004 (winner of Norisring and GP of Solitude 1965.)
- 906-007 (2.place on Targa Florio 1965)
- 906-008
- 906-009
and the 906-010 was "Ollon Vyllar Spider"
All this cars were from 1965. - 906-010 with coupe-body is from 1966 and with this car G.Mitter
was Euro-Champion 1966.

Bergspyder 909 is from 1968!

And I have forgotten to say, beginning of chassis numbers with "906" have nothing
in common with Porsche 906 (Carrera 6) - in 1965 nobody was thinking on Carrera 6 -
the numbers "906-***" were made so only for to see difference (6 or 8 cyl.) to "904"....
