Hey guys,
Well after some searching on the internet, I couldn't find a clear cut answer on the licensing of F1 to game developers. As far as I know, Sony's license expires in 2005, but I haven't read if it will be renewed vs. being shared. So, does anyone know what the new deal will bring? This will determine (partially) if I'll be purchasing a PS3 or an Xbox360.

Thanks

Sonys license ends 2007 so its some more years until you will se F1 games on any other platform.

What's the bet Sony just renews it and screws us all over for another 6 years or so?

The bet is a milllion dollars, and I bet Sony will screw us, and you bet that they don't screw us.

The choice is easy for me: PS3. The Formula One Series. We'll be able to race full races online, download Driver / Track / Car updates, with photorealism being the goal. “If I drive my car into a gravel trap, it will leave wheel impressions in the gravel that stay there for the duration of the race,” says the development team. “If I drive the car back on to the track, gravel dust will filter from my wheels on to the tarmac, affecting grip for other cars. As other cars drive past, this dust will disperse and move around the track and you’ll see it blowing.”
One version worldwide, all racing online together.

Sony announced Formula One for Playstation 3 already at last year's E3. Below is a link to the impressive game demonstration video from E3. It's almost entirely in-game video footage.
