I know that this model was already produced in past but probably in limited numbers.
Here are the results of my researches:
- 20 or 25 years ago Provence Moulage produced a model at the scale of 1:43
- Tamiya produced a 1:12 remote controled model
- Formula Canada produced a model at the scale of 1:24
These three models were Patrick Tambay's version 1977 . (not 1978 as I wrote before)
Two or three years ago, Norev bought the mould from Provence Moulage but Norev does not find any more this mould!!!
I contacted Formula Canada to propose them a new production, but I have never had answer.
To my knowledge, the only (visible) difference between Tambay and Ickx's car was the air intake situated in the nose of the Ickx's car.
To produce at cost price the Ickx's model, we have 2 solutions:
- To look for someone who has a model from Provence Moulage, even in bad condition from which we can rebuild a mould (the least expensive solution)
- To Look for the plans(blue prints) of the car and if, by magic, we can find them, build a new mould. Naturally, this solution is much more expensive and thus the price of the model will be higher which will be against our goal.
If there is request, we can release a multi-version models as for example Tambay and Ickx or what ever. Optional parts and decals may be added.
Also, we have in mind to produce kits but build models can be produce too, depending of the demand.
So, if anyone has an old model from Provence Moulage, even in very bad condition, I will be very glad if he could get in touch with me to make some deal. Also, all your propositions are more than welcome.
You can contact me by e-mail (because I don't check very often my PM
