Bruno Betti’s Tecno PA123-1, probably one of the last space frame F1 chassis built.
But….
Suddenly it dawned on me……
I was going to post this cutaway late last night, when all of a sudden I remembered something.
I more or less jumped in the car…..ridiculous ! how does one jump in a car ?. I mean I was in a damn hurry to get in as it was going to be a trip… an enjoyable one as always in an 18 year old Honda Accord with a tuned Legend 2.7 V6 in it.
Off and away to the beautiful town of Troyes, where I still have a Shurgard.
Driving through the night, I suddenly remembered I would have to report to work this morning.
Bugger it, I decided I'd call the boss at about eight and tell him I wasn't coming in.
The blast down to Troyes from Rotterdam is really fabulous at night. Check the police channel for the mobile speed traps…and off you go.
Rotterdam->Breda->Antwerp->Lille->Reims. The roads are silky smooth, and the heavy shod Accord,
225/50R18 fronts and 255/50R18 rears ( yes I can get a cigarette paper between the tyre wall and the fender) , 50mm lowered suspension on springs wound by Heiki in Krimpen aan den IJssel (town near where I live) Koni yellow sports dampers set full hard.
I love the damn little beast !!! Throttle it full in a sharp corner and I'll even get a hint of oversteer !
great in a "traction" as the French say.
I phoned Jean-Pierre at "Le Pan de Bois" in Bucheres, and told him I would be touching down at two-ish, he agreed to leave the keys to my room aside the second flower pot from the left wall of the parking lot ( as he used to in the past, when I worked in France).
The Pan de Bois is owned by Jean-Pierre’s father, a “master” butcher.
You don’t tell him how you want your piece of beef done ……..a-point/ bien cuit or saignant, he neither will ask you how you want it prepared……….he looks at the cut and decides how it should be done… you… paying customer…sit down..shut up and eat !!
Well… I get there, retrieve “mes clefs” and go to my room……….and I should’ve known.
As in the past when I have come in late at night, J.P had set up the oven on a timer and my favourite
dauphin gratinois, haricots verts grillee, buttery “mange tous”….(the French don’t even know what that is !! It is as French as “Chop Suey” is Chinese !) were ready to eat as was my prime cut.
In the fridge a bottle of Epineul rose…..damn! that was some sort of breakfast at nearly three in the morning!!
But I digress….a good sleep in and start off to the Shurgard at 10-ish…. To find what I thought (damn risk to think that much Marc !!!, leave thinking to a horse…it has bigger brain !) I might maybe have but which I am not really sure of….
The Encyclopedia of Super Cars. Volume 8. Page 1817 and 1818……..
Here it is the Jag XJ13 !!!

I just can’t remember what I do or do not have.
Oh well ! you now know I run an old Honda Accord!
edit....I think I was a bit tired when I wrote this up...does it make sense ?
