Good afternoon everyone. I have been reading your forum with growing interest over the last couple of months - fascinating. It's a pity that some pictures are blocked by ImageShack - not least Bruno Betti's Blower Bentley on p103. Is there any other way I can find it, please?

Quite a few of CVA's earlier ImageShack pictures appear to have gone missing - is it a capacity problem? Does anyone have a copy of the Blower Bentley from p103 please?

What I haven't mastered yet is how to get a thumbnail into the post. Can anyone advise a novice please?

I had a problem with image Shack but you can find them in my album in image Shack

This is great stuff I've fingers crossed here that you have lots of new material to post.

The XJR-9 almost looks like the prototype of the car, if not for the race numbering.

Regarding the posting of thumbnails, when actually logged into ImageShack, in your 'My Images' section, look on the panel, bottom right, containing the 'Links to share this image' drop down menu. Here, at the bottom you will need to collapse the menu entitled 'Embed thumbnails of this image' and then simply copy and paste the URL link form that appears in the top 'Forum' option.

I would say that you must be working on something, a project, that requires the documenting of or at least an understanding of every known suspension variant, surely that is a reasonable guess Roger?

Yes, yes, no, no, nearly. The suspension variant is not an issue. It is a tangential interest going off from the research item.

Thank you for the welcome - particularly since it was an interest in your drawings (not least the much-revered D-type and GTO) that attracted me to the forum! Certainly no offence was intended. The only "working" is to tidy up the images, by removing evidence of paper folds, joins and blemishes. I shall clearly have to mind my words in future!

I was expecting the choice of words to imply that I was not being too serious - should have added a dreaded smiley! However, you can't blame illustrators for being a bit alarmed when their work is altered in any way - 'cleaning' a poor quality print is obviously the exception!

A pompous idiot once asked me to send him a copy of my cutaway of the March 83C, only to inform me some time later that he had his tame IT person alter the colour scheme and logos, and had given a large print of the changed artwork to one of his clients. "He was delighted with it!", or words to that effect. I, of course, was equally delighted to have my copyrighted work changed without permission, or fee, and given away for ultimate gain. He seemed completely oblivious to the fact that what he had done was, at best, cheeky, and at worst, a contravention of copyright law.

Anyway, welcome, MEI, keep up the good work!

That's an impressive bit of work. It looks as if it is from a fairly early publication, too. Any details, Quintin?

Edited to say that it is, I think, unusual to see a cutaway from that period that doesn't have the cuts coloured red, something which I was never keen on, as it can over-power an illustration. Just my opinion...
