Sometimes my wife complains that my home office turned out in a private motor racing museum. (See attached photos), but I don’t know why...

About the same. Altough it is slowly spreading out from my 'office'!!!!

Yep, pretty much the same, only its our dining room though we are about to extend, so my time may be limited.

Hamilton and C type at Le Mans, Fernley painting of D50 with Moss sitting chatting to Collins and Hawthorn, ltd. ed. Macleod painting of Gilles sideways through Casino, "blue print" drawing of Frogeye Sprite on my walls.

Large book cases of books videos and DVD's, firmly held down to terra firma by a number of die cast models (healey 3000, Merc 300SLR and Rennwaggen etc.)

This is what my (little) flat looked like before I met my wife.










Now, some time further, that we bought a house, everything, I still own (kits and memorabilia, diecasts are out the door) is all situated in 1, luckely big, room.

David, I hate to say it, but mine's infinitely worse than that .....

Luckily, I don't possess a digital camera, so you'll all have to just imagine the teetering piles of books, papers, files and notes: at the moment there's more floor covered with them than not!!

LOL. Ya, mine is starting to look like that as well. Not as much stuff, but then again I'm only in my 30's. I'm stuck with one small room, and a garage for all my racing stuff. I had a bigger room, but got kicked out when the daughter arrived.....

According to the wife, Tony Kanaan's helmet or a collection of 1-43 scale Super Champion 917's aren't shabby chick enough to go in the bed room.

A most humble effort in comparison with you fellows... The cars are (mostly) 1:18 Constructors' Championship winners and the WDC's car in the years prior to 1958. I live in the (probably futile) hope that somewhow, somewhere, a greater number of 60s and 70s 1:18 diecasts will be produced. Right now, I think I have all the 1:18 Constructors' Championship winners available and when I can smuggle them in past the memsahib, there will be some pre-war GP cars too.

Mind you, derrière the camera are two walls of bookcases, with at least 10 books common to David Beard's pic earlier.

A SPECIALL PLACE FOR THE BOOKS - NOW MAINLY ON THE 34-39 ERA
AND A VIDEOS & DVD COLLECTION AS WELL .
I USED TO PARK MY KART THERE BUT NOW ITS ONLY MY ALFA-ROMEO .

Erm, bit embarrassed. The pic was taken a while ago, along with a whole lot of others around the house, to burn onto a CD and file at work in case of an insurance claim. We're in a prime bushfire area here.

I've got one room where I keep my books and boxes of photographs. The wall to the left also contains books!





Whenever any one visits remotely interested on cars it takes ages to get them out of the room!

My wife also allowed a Nicholas Watts print (Trintignant / Monaco 1955) in the living room!

This trophy was given to me in 1998 from the Depailler family after my visit in Clermont. It was the last of one they have what makes me very proud. First I thought Patrick Depailler has got it for the victory with the GT at the >>Criterion de Cevennes<< back in 1968. Now I know that PD has got it for fastest lap in F3 race at Albi on October 20, 1968. The race was won by Henri Pescarolo and DP was off after problems with the carburetor. In fact Depaller and Cevert have had the same lap time which was finally becomes fastest lap, Cevert gave the trophy to Patrick.

Mine's more of a library than a museum...













Not included: the mags in the spare room - 20 years of Autosports, 10 years of Motor Sports, a few dozen GPIs, a bound volume of Speedworld, a complete run of Octane and Graham Gould's mags and a box full of Classic Car Africas and Automobile Historiques.

Keep 'em coming - the untidier the better! Then I can explain to 'she who must be obeyed' that i'm not really that bad.

After all, I only have
1. Two-thirds of a bookcase full of my 100 or so motoring books.
2. The walls of our tiny landing occupied by display cases for my 100 or so 1/43 models
3. The window cill in our bedroom which is full of 'Matchbox' sized cars
4. The box files on the bedroom floor with 5 years' worth of Motor Sports, various Octanes and Classic & Sports Cars, complete runs of Historic Racing and Historic Race and Rally, various goodwood programmes etc
5. Another Five years of Motor Sport in the loft
6. Most of the boxes for my car collection as they are more saleable with the box

I have a few books...

Not much of a museum here and the motor sport books only occupy two small shelves. I have plenty of model cars still in boxes.
Right now, the living-room walls are covered with Classic Team Lotus calendars and with posters of The Italian Job, Audrey Hepburn, Steve McQueen, Castelotti, Fangio, Birkin, Petoulet and Behra. Above and next to my desk I have drawings of 1920s-30s Bugattis, Alfas, Hispano-Suizas, Delages, etc.







A couple of pictures I had on my walls in Brussels. Now they are still wrap in boxes but they will go on walls asap we move to a house:

Me jealous, never. Just m two all time favourite drivers, in the same sentance, with the same trophy, jealous doesn't begin to cover it!! Your a lucky man.

Now explain, how do you guys dust this lot!!!?? I hope to unpack my stuff real soon, the troubles of moving house

I don't have an awful lot of space...and since all display of motorsport related stuff is not tolerated in most areas of the house my little corner is getting a bit cramped....
