There is a degree of confusion here.

The only evidence I can find regarding that Reims race in 1957 has Menditeguy as #32.

I just wonder if Barrie is sure about the #46 and if so, where did he get that information.

Just counted. Pictures, not rivets. I have 22 pictures of the #46 V-12 car at Reims that weekend. Unfortunately I cannot post any for obvious reasons but they are definitely Reims. The garages, the grandstands, the tyre emmulating bridge, its all there. Either behind or flashing by.

The following site is hosting a picture of the #46 V-12 back at the Factory following the Reims GP. It is sitting along side the newer "offset" driveline car #10 chassis 2531 used in Reims practice.

Ahhh! I see you are sifting through Sheldon's work again with your number 32 reference. Although a masterful piece of work assembling literally a hundred thousand scraps of information, it unfortunately has many errors. A reasonable starting point but if anyone is serious, back it up by digging through old magazines, books or head off to the library.

Number 32 at Reims was chassis 2515 owned by Ottorino Volonterio. He practiced it as did the unfortunate Herbert Mackay Fraser.

None of the V-12 cars ever ran with the number 32. In fact #32 was only ever used three other times on a 250F in 1957. Ivo Bueb at the British GP on the old Gilby car and both Fangio's Monaco cars.

At the last serious count I did, I was over 20,000 and that was a year and bit ago.
Always the same story though. More than enough of Fangio's 250F at the 1957 Nurburgring (122) but never enough of Ruggero Peruzzo's 250F at the 1960 Barra da Tijuca (1) but I shall keep looking.

I allow myself to take the opportunity to clear another Maserati "mess" :

1962 Maserati T151 , 3 build for LeMans , 2 for Cunningham ( both to US after LM , 1 chrashed in 63 , other still lives). 1 for Simone .
1963 T151/1 , the Simone car is modified with a larger engine and some bodyparts.
1964 T151/3 , the Simone car gets a new low sleek body ,unlike the 62/63 version,as well as new chassis ,but same number(151.002).
1965 T151/4 , the Simone car now white and altered engine , destroyed in LM pre practice with Casner getting killed. Info from M.Bollee,Maserati T151 , Last monster from Modena.
