Hello F1 fans!

I have planned a vacation in Malaysia and Singapore in March, and ofcourse, I want to visit the GP at Kuala Lumpur on march 19. However, I have never been to a GP before, and am a bit puzzled about buying the tickets online. At the time of the GP, I'm already in Malaysia, so I only need the entrance tickets.

For instance, the website http://www.malaysiangp.com.my/motorsports/f1/tickets.html. This website looks like the official website of the Sepang circuit. You can buy tickets online there, for instance: C2 hillstands (friday-sunday) for around RM 150 (approx. US $ 40). Which seems incredibly cheap to me!
However, other websites (like http://www.f1-malaysia.com/ticketsntours/tickets.html or www.grandprix-tickets.com) offer the same for US $ 75 ! Some Dutch websites even have the same tickets for more than US $ 100 !

I just don't understand this price difference. Am I missing something here? Does anyone have any ideas about this? Do you recommende buying tickets from the circuit organisation, or from another company.

Finally, do you have any suggestions for (not expensive) positions?

Thank you!

Herman

Buy from the circuit, it's cheaper usually cos you don't have to pay the mark up other places charge for the pleasure of selling you a ticket they've got from the circuit themselves.

I'd also suggest you go for a mor expensive seat as the heat at Sepang is pretty intense. the Hill stands are just that. A hill that you stand all day on, with no cover

You really don't want to b MELTING out in the sun! K1 is very good!! Citrine is pretty good too!

Thanks for the info!

In the meantime, I have already booked tickets for the C2 grandstand. For sure it will be pretty hot! However, my companions are not really F1 fans, so they do not whish to spend much money on tickets. So I guess we have to face the heat. But with the proper preparation and outfit, we must be able to survive it! smile.gif
The booking process is quite laborious on e malaysiangp.com.my. You first buy tickets with your creditcard online, but after that they asked me to confirm it with a fax. Is that normal? Seams like a lot of extra work for them!

Well, it's too late now. Tickets are booked and confirmed.
So now, I guess it might be wise to start my training... If I work out several weeks in a sauna, maybe I can survive the heat!
Have a nice GP Sith!

If you really wanna simulate the conditions at Sepang, try sleeping in the sauna for a couple of nights!!!!! wink.gif

Maybe we'll catch up over the weekend....

C2? Oh dear... it will be PACKED and HOT over there! The cover is only at the top of the hill. If you wanna be nearer to the track, bring a huge golf umbrella and sit under it. Well, that's what I used to do when I was sitting there. Not anymore, once I've discovered the comforting shade of a grandstand.

Make sure u allocate ample time to travel between C2 and the Welcome Area. The feeder busses are always packed so u end up having to wait for awhile to get a ride. It's far too long a walk, esp in the scorching heat. Sith should know, he's been here every year and he still sweats bucket loads!wink.gif

hey guys,

i'm going to the malaysia grand prix and at the moment, i'm have a tough choice.

do i go upper-tier or lower-tier mall?

if i choose upper-tier; sapphire, diamond, emerald, or ruby?

if i choose lower-tier; turquoise, jade, garnet, or crystal?

pretty much, what's the best seat money can buy?
niwanda
Don't think there's much diff between the Upper and Lower Tier.

I think the difference between Turqouise, Jade, Crystal & Garnet is basically which team garage/starting grid position you'll be facing. IIRC, starting grid is at Crystal, so top 6 starters will be near Crystal/Diamond. And the winner's podium will directly face crystal/diamond as well.

I've got a friend who likes Ralf (they exist!!) so she chose Jade, cos that's near the Toyota garage I presume. Some of my friend like Tower cos you can move around from one side of the circuit to the other while some of my friends like F. I personally like K1 but will be at Diamond this year (on duty).

Sitting at the Diamond/Crystal etc, you won't see the track behind the pit building though, so it'll mainly just be the pit straight. Hence you might want to be on the other side of the track, ie Citrine/Topaz to see both straights & some turns.

Good luck with the heat!
