Words cannot describe how cool this is. Free, countless tracks included, online game available, track editor included. Get it and get online.
If you see a server called "Formula One 2150" in NZ section thats probably me, Ive been designing as close to real tracks as the editor will allow. Fun for all the family.

Damn, it's a big download. I hope PC Zone have it on their cover-disk. That'd be cool. How laggy is it? Would my feeble ISDN connection cope dya reckon?
If it does, I'll see you on the track!
Seems pretty robust online (I can play simultaneously as debs play Everquest) as most of the thing happens on your local PC

When I play online it says I'm not in official mode. Anybody know what that means and how I get to be official?
Thx.

If you join a race half way through you aren't "official", to be official you have to be in a race from the start (then it counts towards your ladder score). So, basically, just wait until the clock winds down on the event you join in, and when the next one starts you'll be racing for ladder points.
Hope that helps

Oh, and I'm loving this game so far.
I'm "BorderReiver" on there too btw.

I got all golds on beginner, all silvers on the next, and all passes on the top level. BUT Im way too erratic for good online scores.

This game is more addictive than crack. I can't seem tog et enough of it.
How is everyone ranked at the moment?
Last check, 2 days ago (man am I suffering from withdrawal) I was in the 400's in the UK and in the 11,000's in the World. That was 48 hours ago though, so I'm bound to have slipped since . . .

800s in NL, 10277th in the world here

Addictive indeed! And I only play about an hour a day or so!
Seems the ladder's more stable in the last few days than it has been. Only trouble with an improving ranking is that it becomes harder to score. Also it's very depressing when you beat Nadeo's record and find out you're
still only 6th on the server!
Must say that the website sucks. Hardly any information when you log on.

After driving pretty much all evening on mainly Italian servers (high countryranking + low number of servers = higher average rank of players = more points, never mind the lag) and am now 5473th in the world

I always end up on gamedomain server just because it on the top of the list. Always the same 8 tracks though....
Maybe the chaps and chapesses that are here should use Baddog's AtlasF1 server whenever it's available. It's gotta be more fun to race against people we 'know' rather than any Tom, Dick and Other Pseudonymn, isn't it? I understand there is a password system that could be put in place too. Maybe something to think about?
Also, would love to hear some comments on the tracks you love and hate. I've now been through all the tracks and can't complete the last two yet (I8 and I9 I think they would be). Others are hit and miss, but some I love (mainly the first time I head GSTQ for me!!!!). Just must remember which track numbers they were.

if it's not too silly a question how do you get a password to compete on the "net".
I've tried making some up but the system kicks me off...
I like the game
BUT the momo wheel I use doesnot
how to get real brakes?
I can't get the foot brakes to work and use a button for brakes
so its all or nothing
and the gas is very odd with 1/2 the travel reverse
and is there any way to control the gears?

I started playing this just over a week ago. I have spent more than a fair few hours on it, as it's pretty addicitve. I think I am ranked ~9500 in the world.
The track I seem to be best at is called 'Dutch Delight' and my record is in the very low 46 seconds. I thought this was pretty good as I seem to win all of my races on it but the WR is actually just less than 2 seconds beneath this. Unbelievable! Some people have way too much time on their hands.
I use a XBOX 360 controller to play with and it is pretty good. Unfortunately, there is no analogue brake to go with the analogue throttle, which makes me a sad Panda
Stunning.
I suck at it, but stunning.
I guess my major problem is that I play by keyboard...
I see other players exchanging messages, but cannot figure how.
Explanation, please ?

Messaging : hit space and type your message, end with enter
Haven't played in ages. Problem is that it gets repetitive pretty quickly and the custom tracks are nowhere near the level of the Nadeo tracks. I was driving with keys as well, but managed to get close to the top 5000 worldwide. Not too bad!
Thanks a lot, Judge Schott.
Since we are on it,
1) what does it mean I am not " in official mode", and what camn I do to get "official" ?
2) Is there any way to change the pilot's view ? It seem to be built in in the track charachteristics.

If you join a game after the countdown has already started then you won't be in official mode for that round. Once the next round starts then you will be in official mode, and elligible to score points for yourself and your nation.
There are only two suitable views that I am aware of, you can switch between them by pressing '1' and '2' on the numberpad. The number '7' will give you an overall view of the track, and the other numbers on the numberpad can be used to navigate around the track.

The Music really gets to me after a short time. I have to turn the sound down so I can bare it. Is there anyway to stop the music it is driving me to stop playing.
