I may be attending solo this year so I'm trying to mininmize costs. We always staying right downtown in previous years. Well my girlfriend is tired of going and she wanted to be where all the stuff was going on...I've been enough not to really care. Anyway, I seem to remember that some stayed at hotels near the Longuiel(sp?) stop that were less expensive. I'm looking for a hotel within walking distance of the Metro.

There is a Holiday Inn and a Radisson near the UQAM station. Longeuil is another good choice but don't know about hotels.

Thanks uffen, but what I'm looking for is a hotel in Longueil that is close to that Metro station. I understand they are much less expensive.

I am currently checking out hotels, as well. My first time at the Grand Prix.
Was looking here: l, about $195/night. What is your price range?

You can rent a room in the student residences at McGill University for about $60 a night including breakfast. It's about 15 minutes walk to the Metro.

Better book it early, though. I heard they are totally filled that week.

Just to offer an alternative to chain hotels there's also tons of Bed and Breakfasts in town. We rent a full apartment for $120CAD a night. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g155032-...bec-Hotels.html
