I'm hoping to attend this year's Japanese GP, I will be staying in Tokyo, is it far away from the track? which grandstand is the best for viewing? what should i look out for?
any suggestion would be much appreciated.

You will be travelling by train (either Hikari or Nozomi-stopping trains or Toykaido Shinkansen- HiSpeed) to Nagoya and taking a local train or bus to up to Suzuka. Could be up to 3 hr trip. Be prepaired to walk to the track from wherever public transport leaves you, 2-4 miles or so.
I went GA in 89 and sat at the exit of 130R.....
Whoo Hoo !!!!
Make sure you have your tickets in hand as this race is traditionaly a 'sold out' affair.

Hi Jp
thanks for the info, i know i need to order the tickets early, that's why i'm asking now - i hope to finalize the trip by the end of next week.
exit of 130R? that seems a good selection, i was also thinking about the pit straight, but i think i'm now more bias toward the 130R or the chicane, i believe you should be able to see some pass at that area. Did you see the Prost / Senna clash?
I will be in Kusatsu (approx. 30km N.E. of Kyoto) the week prior to the GP. Does anyone know the best way to get to Suzuka?
Dose anyone know of a good place in Tokyo to watch the Chinese GP, a bar or cafe with other F1 fans?
Thanks
Steve
