here's hoping! Although I didn't see the end of it so i can't say. The online TV guides are still listing it as on same time next week.

Edit - just checked with channel 10 and it seems that next week will be it's last week.

More information - tentatively, the next few races, until the Italian GP, are set to air at 22:30.

The Italian GP is set to be delayed til 2am due to Channel 10's Rugby world cup commitments.

The Japanese GP is pencilled in for a 15:30 to 17:00 timeslot (without checking the facts it looks like it still isn't live, and will be butchered to shreds).

The chinese GP is set to be shown at 1am, again after the all channel 10's rugby commitments.

Brazil of course will be shown live, as not even the televangelists will pay for airtime at that time of day.

A clue to the Big Brother and Australian Idol satuaration on Channel 10 is in their "seriously" commercials...

You know the ones, the ones with all the american actors saying "theres no better place to be...."

They are pretty light on Australian content TV shows...
PLAYLIFE
Yes I was rather pleased that Ch10 started showing F1 closer to the scheduled time this time...

However, what is with the damn music they keep playing as an intro/outro to commercials, it's extremely annoying. Must they play music for so long? It adds nothing to the telecast.

At one stage, they played the damn music whilst James and Martin were talking and were not going to a break, but obviously Ch10 didn't realise and slowly faded it away again, after around a minute.
OssieFan
That was irritating, it seems they knew a break was coming up but got the timing wrong. Still, you'd think they'd just stop the music then start it again when necessary.

just pay for it and stop whinging!!!!!!

www.livesporton.tv

you'll never watch Ch 10 again.

Was it just me or was the sound completely out of sync for the race coverage? And if those monkeys MUST talk during the ITV breaks (Sth African TV doesn't and it's 2mins of bliss, let me tell you) - how about they don't sound like they are talking through a toilet roll mad.gif

Kids News would be more professional than this armature "show"...

Yep the audio was definitely out of sync, it was ahead of the visual. You would hear Allen yelling about something before we saw it happen. It was the same with the qualifying as well I believe.

This service is really very good. I've used it for 3 or 4 races this season so far and I'm real pleased.

Whats also cool about this telecast is that because you can start the telecast from one hour prior to the race you get the whole ITV pre-race F1 Show. So about 3 hours of F1 madness on Sunday nights... all finished pretty much around the time the race has only just started on 10.

The only down side is that they aren't offering any of the practice or qualy sessions. I've had a couple rounds of emails with them about offering this but they keep saying that they "can't" do it.

Clearly there's no real technical barrier to providing this so who knows!?

If any of you are interested in using it can you please let one of us know, cos we actually get a little discount if we recommend people to the site (and they use the service).

Whats the quality like, and also, how much bandwidtch would 1 race take up? seems like alot, especially when im on "unlimited" yetr, i still get capped if i go over 10 gig. any details?
Just
I was very interested until I watched their sample video on the website. The quality is really quite poor, unfortunately. It doesn't seem to be any better than using TVU or Sopcast, and that's at least free.

I'm still mildly looking into getting a satellite dish, but I still can't find anyone who'll sell me one and install it, here in Perth. A few days ago I googled up a place called "Northside Antennas" that seem to do satellite dishes, but there was only an email address on their web page, and no phone number. So I emailed them, and still haven't heard back. :/
KLN
will try and check next race for you. have never thought to worry about it as unlimited too.
but quality good as far as we are concerned. still better than Ch 10. don't know how to go about the free one's that mentioned previously and technical service good from them too.

according to the tv guide on yahoo7.com.au, it's a 1 hour a 10 minute program (1250am to 2am). Expect it to be highlights only.

Has anyone noticed that on Ten's coverage, the audio and video are always a little out of sync? Particularly annoying during the onboard footage. Surely any competent technician at Ten would be able to get this sort of thing right.
KLN
will make note to self to try and measure download/upload, but apple's birthday celebrations on sunday afternoon, so maybe not so successful this week.
KLN
note to self worked. didn't seem to be very bad at all. i've gone back over the last couple of months and checked out sunday usage, and it wasn't very high at all. no worse than 2 kids home on school holidays, and 3 computers using the internet.

Did anyone watch the Champcar race from Edmonton on TV last night?

Wow. 2hr 35min broadcast. If anything, it was probably the best coverage of a non-Surfers Champcar race I've ever seen. The only thing we didn't see was a brief snapshot of the podium.

Otherwise, it was very, very good. Bravo Ch7.

Anyone else have a look?

Yeah I was very impressed. I thought we would just get the race but there was a good build up etc. Hinchcliffe is a star behind the microphone, and only twenty years old!

It's just a shame 7 procrastinated so long as we've missed a great season so far.

Around 1am. It will usually be on at that time after each race.

Is Ten actually going to show the Turkish GP qualifying? According to my TV guide, only the race will be shown.

I have it at midnight tonight in Melbourne.
gerry nassar
Yeah its on midnight in Melb and 11.30 in Sydney. Not sure about the others but check www.ten.com.au as other tv guides have it missing.
KLN
Hey Gerry,
where's Mat??? or do you know
need to find out when the Champ Car race is on from Holland, and he seems to have a handle on the television guides. wouldn't mind seeing will power start.
bumper was going over for friday, so will be interesting to see what she has to say.

Kathe
Mat
hey Kath, wave.gif

if you were to watch the champ car race from zolder live, it would be on at 10pm Sunday night.

At the CDT sunday night we have both the F1 & Champ Car races starting at exactly the same time. Lucky we have two screens.... smoking.gif

Id imagine channel 7 will still show it on Monday night though.
Nasty McBastard
so tonights race has been bumped to an even later time of 11:30 so 10 can show........happy gilmore?

wtf?

theres no big brother any more, so no need to cram in another show for suckers to waste money on SMS's, so rather than give us a race at a resonable (hell they could do em live now), theyre delaying even more.

dunno whats worse as the reason. BB or that fucking movie.
repcobrabham
in sydney it's listed as being on at 10.40, right after... the wedge. yes, the worst skit 'comedy' i can recall seeing. an hour's worth. why didn't put it on straight after rove and make i big deal about it, i'll never know. a lot of people who couldn't care less about motorsport would happily give it a go because of the mystique of F1. i mean, i must admit i can understand them delaying it for big-money franchises like BB and aus idol... but not the friggin' wedge!
Nasty McBastard
ill be pissed if they are showing it at 11:30 here when you guys get it at 10:30..... theres no reason for a difference between sydney and melbourne.

edit: the guide on ten.com.au shows rove, happy gilmore and the gp at 11:20 both in sydney and melbourne.
guess itll be a lucky dip to see when its really on.

Nast McB is right, the original listing was 10:40 to follow the Wedge, bad, but not totally unacceptable. It has been bumped another hour to follow a rerun of a pretty ordinary movie. This is insulting.
KLN
when are you in town jp. we have the computer in the bedroom with live streaming beaming in, and the laptop on at the same time with the sector times on that. hope its not for china as we'll be in shanghai with the infiltrator.
KLN
will say it again...

oh well....for only the 4th time ever, ill be letting the video do the work and having an early gp sunday night.

11:20 start is bad enough, but having to sit through happy gilmore is just a SLAP IN THE FACE!!!

or something.

Hey Adrian - I think it started after 11.30. I got home from the CDT at midnight and on tv it was only about 12 laps in.

Yeh it was around 11.40 by the time the coverage actually started (Rust and McConville talking about FP and Quali). Race probably started another 10mins after that.

Thanks guys.

Considering we are about to get screwed by the Rugby you would think TEN would give us this one on time.......

Looking at the rugby match schedule, there will be clashes with Ten's usual broadcast time of all the remaining F1 races except Brazil. Does Ten have the rights to show all the rugby matches?

In a weird way, the clashes could actually increase the chance of China and Japan being shown live, but this is also wishful thinking.

Thank God Almighty for the CDT! love.gif

Those of you in Melbourne should definitely come and watch the race (and quali/practice) there. Adrian I know you will be making it for the Spa weekend.

Ch 10 are pathetic. Rugby down.gif

JP - 2am for Monza in Adelaide yes.

Hey JP! Yeah Rosemont is probably best in town. If they are not showing it then try the sportsbar in the casino.
