Looks like I might need to be in Switzerland on the 25th of April, and lo and behold, the San Marino GP is on the previous weekend (my supervisor suspects I have a hand in setting the F1 calendar). So the question - how easy is it to travel from Zurich to San Marino (and back)? Alternatively, I could fly to London and then to San Marino before heading for Switzerland.

Any one travlled along these routes before? Noting the obvious time constraints here - how feasible will sucha trip be?

It's EASY.

I spent a year driving around Europe and I found Italy through to Switzerland to be one of my favourite routes.

Simply drive up towards Milan, and slingshot around it and up through Lugano on your way to Zurich. Its about 550 km in total but a lovely trip.

I used to go to the French part of Switzerland so my route was slightly different as I'd take the tunnels. However your route should be great fun.

Here - take a look at this route

You'll like Italian Highways.
Incredible, but they're the best in Europe, by far.
If you do not venture south of Napoli, that is.

Italy is the best to drive
Go always over 200km/h and nobody will never stop you

Thanks for the replies - Unfortunately I won't be going anymore ... the overall cost was just too high .. and the Imola leg was the cheapest part! Will try to do it next year though.
