Hi guys,

I'm planing on going to the 07 australian GP, from the looks of thing the grand stand tickets are pritty expencive, the general addmition is a good prise, but can you see any of the race?? are there places where you can watch it or do need to get a grandstand ticket??

any help would be great, thx's.

I went in 05, and sat in the Schumacher stand on the last corner. I think you would be better off going for a grandstand, if you can find the cash, it was excellent. Theres plenty of general admission places to stand or sit - but it appeared to be really really cramped. It looked like if you left your spot for two minutes it would be gone.

A coworker of mine went this year and had good things to say about the 4 grandstand pass, might also be worth a look. I was thinking of going too, but without the V8's im going to give it a miss I think.

I've only ever been in general admission and there are some great places to watch the race. However if you want to be near a superscreen then get to those points early on Sunday as they are the most populated areas.

Depends what you want to see. If you want to see cornering and some overtaking - try Brabham, Jones (both expensive) or Clarke (which is pretty cost effective). If you want to see all the activities on the grid and the pits - then nothing better than Fangio which is where ive been sitting with a few guys from the BB here for a few years. Highly reccommended! This year we got to see Montoya crash and retire, Schumacher crash and retire, Button blow up and Alonso overtaking Button up.gif

If you go GA - you have to get in position early.

I was trying to get a GP Advantage ticket for next year, but registering on the GP website has not resulted in any contact at all and the ticket sales site now wants a "priority booking no".

Does anyone know how it is supposed to work and what I should do?

I received a brochure from the AGP about the Advantage tickets which included a booking number. I assume this is because I've ordered tickets from them before.

trying to decide myself....

has anyone ever done that '4 stands in 4 days' thing?

only problem i see ther is theres atleast 2 stands i would otherwise never consider.

as far as stands go im thinking the outisde t1 and inside t2 stands are looking ok

Yes,

28th July 2006 – 29th August 2006 was exclusive to prior GP Advantage buyers.

30 August 2006 – 31st October 2006 was for those who hade ordered tickets from them previously and for those like me who had registered their interest on the web.

So I guess that if I am lucky, something looking like a brochure should arrive in the mail before 31/10. up.gif

I looked at that earlier this year and the grandstand selections that were in that package in 2006 seemed to be much "better". You could try something different and still be in Jones or Brabham on raceday, but not this year.

if there was just 1 stand in the turn 1/2 area id go for it.

pit straight stands are fine for seeing all the 'fluff' on race day, and pit action, and id like ONE of the stands on the last 2 turns...

but 2 seems a bit 'samey', and the one around the back doesnt interest me much.

Guess what arrived in the mail today biggrin.gif

So another question for people who have been there before: Which grandstand have the best view of a superscreen?
KLN
Go Fangio, at least that way if you are sitting there you can watch all the comings and goings in the pits, as well as 3 screens, and then all the start and finish action. if you do that, you can then enter thru any other gate (once you've entered the first time thru Gate 1), and do all the other corners of the general admission during practice and qualifying. we usually on sit in fangio for qual. and race, you can come and go everywhere else (except for the other stands) freely.
it doesn't sound cheap i know, but for 4 days of entertainment $400.00 odd dollars is not that bad, look at concert ticket prices for a 2 hour show.
if you're coming from interstate or OS, qantas packages have plenty of Fangio spots, and also GP Advantage, you can usually pick your seats with them too

A sort of follow up question:

Have anyone else in Europe received their tickets? I got the "We got your order" letter in october saying that the tickets were to be mailed in december but I have not seen anything yet.

/Ulf

And, yes I choose Fangio, if the grandstand maps were accurate I should be sitting more or less exactly at the start-finish line although a bit high up in the grandstand smile.gif

You wanna have the party of your life in G.A, then get to turn 9 as soon as the gates open on race day! There's a screen, and everyone has a great time!!!!
