Hi Russ, have to admit that the pic was somehow familiar rolleyes.gif . BTW, the pic of of his father recently provided by RRT2 on the Clady circuit is awesome, I assume it was taken at the 7 mile long straight. Wasn't it there that Serafini chopped tread off his rear tyre when the Rondine went bouncing ? Wonder how much of the Clady circuit is still preserved, Larry ?

Quite a lot of the post 1946 (16.5 mile)circuit is still there, including the straight, but the longer 20.5 mile version was cut through when (what is now) Belfast International airport was extended during the war.

Also, the tank and, I think seat, seem to be moulded from those fitted to a Macchi Mettise, although both altered. I wonder how the motor was suspened in the frame ....downtubes ?

The guy on the extreme left could be Bill Smith (but did he ever venture down to where I think this is: Alicante?)....... could be Steve Murray; the other bloke: Vicenzi or something similar. Must be '63/4.

That's a practice shot, as was the other one. Les's race number was 11, but since all classes practised together, 100 was added to the race number to avoid confusion in practice.

It's interesting to note that there are practice photos of Bill Lomas on No 112 with Earles forks, but when you see a race shot, carrying No 12, teles are fitted.

Les, sadly, liked the Earles units but they scared the s*** out of Bill, especially over the jumps on the Seven Mile Straight.
