So as long as you only run them in your ordinary, regular, common-or-garden one-quarter scale race cars, they should be a fairly sound purchase; what exactly constitutes normal service for such a motor? Running it 'as is' would be problematic unless you had the the appropriate to-scale static plumbling and cooling system - or even a dyno.

Not strictly just a replica miniature engine, and im sure many of you may have seen this, but for sheer brilliance this takes some beating, Apologies if it has been posted elsewhere previously.

A fully operational 1/3 scale Ferrari 312 PB model, complete with 12 cylinder fully working engine, so perfect in detail it even makes the 'right' noise.

Two clips of it here, one in French that is more detailed (believe me you dont need the words to describe it) and one in English which does more of a look at the engine. My admiration (jealousy) of this mans ability is immense. It took 15 years to complete.

Perhaps in line with recent threads on aeroplane engined cars it may be of interest to note that the model aeroplane/airplane engine manufacturer, O.S., have just produced an inline, 4 cylinder, 4 stroke, vintage style engine.

It is on their website and on many O.S. stockists websites.
