Just wondering if anyone as experience of camping at the Belgian GP? I am planning on hiring a motor home in Brussels(although I have had no luck in finding a rental company yet!) and driving down to Spa. I was at the GP in 2000 and saw a lot of campers very close to the main gates, does any one know if you can book these sites??

Cheers,
Ken

You can book ahead at some sites, saves getting there and spending your time looking around for somewhere, if there's a group you can sometimes get a discount which won't be much but if your a student it will help.

There is an old thread on this - I camped there in 2005. Let me summarise again. As the attendance has been down considerably over the years - I was there in 2001 and 2004 too - there is no longer much of a crush on camping. Expect a lot more Brits this year and a lot less Germans. Only the best stands are sold out as of now so I would expect about only 40,000 odd - down almost 100,000 at the height of interest.

Campsites are price controlled by the local commune - local authority. Just turn up on Thurday before lunch and you will get your pick. Moreover the pitlane is normally opened up in the afternoon and you can look around. Whether they will still do this as it is now a Bernie palace I can't say.

If you look back at my earlier thread you will see that the Danish guys next to us had their tickets robbed in the night. They were very drunk the first night they arrived and paid the price, sadly.
