Eh Dick,
To get to the mountain take the metro to station Cote des Neiges (Blue Line). Use the orange line from Berri-UQUAM and change at Jean-Talon. From the station take bus 165 and then change to bus 11 that goes on the Chemin Remembrance. You can also walk up there but it's maybe 2 to 3 miles to get there or take a cab.

For other activities, apart from Le Cirque du Soleil (good call BTW, the new show is amazing!!) there is a boxing gala the Friday evening in the Tennis stadium (maybe not for you and your Lady mate, but other can certainly benefit

).

Saturday evening there is a rock concert from a local French speaking artist (Eric Lapointe) at the Spectrum on Ste-Catherine street. Nevermind it's going to be in French, his music is good (good ol' rock like it's have to be!!) and just go hang there for the atmosphere.
