I'm hoping someone can tell me the best way to get to Mont Royal...the park not the city. LOL
I've promised my girlfriend I'd take her there since we first started attending the GP over ten years ago and I've yet to do so. We are staying near the Berri-UQAM Metro stop.
Also since we've done all the Crescent St. , GP weekend festivities before can you suggest something different....not necessarily car related? We have Cirque du Soleil tickets, but maybe a good band is playing that no one but a native would know about

Eh Dick,
To get to the mountain take the metro to station Cote des Neiges (Blue Line). Use the orange line from Berri-UQUAM and change at Jean-Talon. From the station take bus 165 and then change to bus 11 that goes on the Chemin Remembrance. You can also walk up there but it's maybe 2 to 3 miles to get there or take a cab.

See: http://www.stm.info/English/info/a-plans.htm for more info

For other activities, apart from Le Cirque du Soleil (good call BTW, the new show is amazing!!) there is a boxing gala the Friday evening in the Tennis stadium (maybe not for you and your Lady mate, but other can certainly benefit wink.gif ).

Saturday evening there is a rock concert from a local French speaking artist (Eric Lapointe) at the Spectrum on Ste-Catherine street. Nevermind it's going to be in French, his music is good (good ol' rock like it's have to be!!) and just go hang there for the atmosphere.

Thanks so much Stephane. Love your city and would like to try some different things, especially since my girlfriend gets kind of bored with all the car stuff. We can't wait to see the Cirque du Soleil show...we've seen just about all of them since they eventually make it to Chicago. I would like to see the ones in Vegas, but can't stand that city so...
Hope you don't mind a couple more questions.
We've used the Metro alot, but not the buses. We usually get a three day pass...is that honored on the buses as well ? I know here in Chicago our transit passes are good for both the "El" and buses. Also
is there any places to get a glass of wine or a beer on the mountain?
Looking forward to seeing your great city again....hope it is hot and dry!
Big Ed
The band "Ween" is playing that Saturday night... got my ticket!
