I am a huge fan of TD's writing.

But to read the following in the middle of his latest fascinating piece left me outraged:

"My senses that something deeply smelly was afoot were confirmed by suggestions being dropped by some highly-placed sources, which I doubt the veracity of in the first place, and which I cannot share with you for legal reasons."

That's just plain mean! You can't drop an awesome hint like that about something scandalous and huge, and then just move on like nothing happened! It's cruel and unusual punishment!

Yeah that paragraph had me a little

I'm still not sure what he's trying to say there, does he doubt the veracity of the story put forward by McLaren and Alonso regarding pitlanegate, or the veracity of the suggestions dropped by 'highly placed sources'?

Is it even about pitlanegate or about the other circumstances facing or having faced McLaren?

The paragraph, while very interesting, seemed a little clumsy and not clear to me. Which I guess may have been the point if things were said in confidence.
