Ted Kravitz has been reporting from the pitlane for years and I dont recall anyone ever questioning his reports as speculation or 'opinion'. Hes not there for opinion hes there to report from the pits and is in direct contact with the on goings in the pitlane. His reports have never been questioned before but now you are because it suits your agenda to question it. You simply refuse to accept what he said because it undermines your agenda, then you have the nerve to accuse me of having an agenda. Im not the one being ignorant to the facts. Im not picking and chosing, Im accepting them all.
The team didnt mention Alonso pitting early in a team report because it was insignicant to the happenings in the GP. He was not fighting for the win.

Playing the ignorance and denail card is very popular around here especially in regards to Alonso. When Ron Dennis praises his development skills, its just 'PR'. When Ted Kravitz says something from the pitlane that might minimize Hamilton its 'opinion' and 'speculation'. I would have expected more from an Admin though.
This is the same Ted Kravitz who speculated Hakkinen would return to McLaren for 2007? The same Kravitz who said Nick Fry was on his way out of Honda? It's still the opinion of 1 pit reporter who obviously is as fallable as any other pit reporter.

I gave you a number of very reasonable arguments why it is very likely Alonso was due for his pitstop and why it wouldn't make sense if he had been fueled heavy on his 1st stop. All you give me as an argument is that I want to praise Hamilton and belittle Alonso. That's pretty thin.

Again extemely disingenuous behaviour. Kravitz commenting on pitlane speculation and rumour about possible team changes is very different from reporting from the pitlane during a race. The former is just reporting speculation and rumour the latter facts that he is told from team personel about the actual race. He doesnt report pitlane speculation in the races, he reports what he digs up and he specifically said 'Mclaren brought Alonso in early because they were scared of a SC' which makes perfect sense. Because you are so biased you now claim that Kravitz reports from the pitlane are no longer credible, when previously they seemed to be for everyone else including his employer.

sorry RTX but your mate ted has got it completely wrong and numerous times. eg until we had the actual fuel volumes filled he was forever getting laps on the next fuel run wrong. james was actually better regardless what you think about his commentary.

often its his own mistake and presumably other times its him either repeating or beleiving the bull he's being fed by the teams.

He was not commenting on fuel volumes in this case. He was specficallly told Alonso pitted early. This was not estimating how much fuel a car is carrying which is a team secret usually. Alonso pitted early in fear of a SC is not a team secret and why wouldnt they have pitted him early considering there was a risk of a SC and he was near his fuel window and an early pitstop would not effect his race position?

Hah I was also tempted to bump Mosquito's widsom (and the rest who automatically rejected what PDLR said at the time)

it's almost hilarious to insinuate that Hamilton could in any way be accountable for his tyre failure. [...] there must have been some failure / bad luck with that specific tyre.

Q: (Frederic Ferret - L’Equipe) Lewis, does your driving style lead to you having problems on some tyre compounds?

LH: No, why would you say that? [roflmao.gif when you see then his next answer]

Q: (Frederic Ferret - L’Equipe) Because of the puncture in Hungary and the one in Turkey last year.

LH: I think in Turkey it was more about my driving style but I don’t think it was the case in Hungary.
