In 1985 or 1986 I visited the Nurnberg Toy Fair. One stall featured model R/C petrol engined racing cars of mid fifties GP cars, ready to run. They were about 1:6 scale from memory. Does anyone know of these and if so could they advise of details - are they still available, name of manufacturer etc.? Additionally, does anyone know of R/C vintage/classic model cars available by current manufacturers?

Perhaps the Jeron Quarter Scale - 1/4 scale not 1/6 but there was a series of mid-50s cars including Maserati 250F and a Ferrari

No, I do not think they were Jeron (too large a scale) but thanks anyway as by my looking up Jeron on the net you have introduced me to Quarter Scale racing models; www.quarterscalelegends.com for a start - a whole new world. There are many sites and forums concerning this scale (Luddenham Quarter Scale speedway racers in Australia is of local interest) and Jeron do make the sort of cars that appeal. Thanks.

-1/4 scale Jeron Quarter Classics. These incredible large scale replicas were
handbuilt in the US by Ron Phillips. Each is fully operable by remote control,
capable of speeds up to 80 mph! Six models are available in the set: Ferrari 801,
Lancia D50, Mercedes W165, Alfa Romeo 158, Maserati 250F and 250F Prototype.
Price is $125 000 CDN for the complete set. Only 3 complete sets exist, as the
last model (Maserati 250F Prototype) sold out in 1996, after 3 were built.

Looking through my old photographs I found these taken at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in the mid 1980s. Are these the Jerons mentioned.
