Hi, as i am a Ken Miles enthusiast i am interested in the Jaguar D Type that he co drove with owner Carlyle Blackwell. Has anyone got a good picture to post of this car.
Even better has anyone got a copy of R & T September 1964 and could kindly just check for me if the feature on Carlyle Blackwell has a decent picture of the car in question. Thank you. Paul

The September 1964 issue of Road & Track (I have it here) has a three page article written by Tony Hogg, with 9 b/w photos plus an additional 2-page color centerspread done by owner Carlyle Blackwell. This is a "salon" article of a car "restored to mechanical perfection....trimmed and finished to a degree well above and beyond anything conceived by the factory when the car was built." There are no period photos of the car in action. If you wish I could check other issues of R&T from the Fifties for pictures of Ken Miles in the car.

JB Miltonian, thanks for your fast reply, i will have to seek out that magazine. Would love to see more, i have only seen a couple , one in a Ken Miles feature from Sportscar Graphic sept- oct 1959 and a small picture and race review by Miles himself in Competition Press Dec 15 1958.
An interesting thing about the car was it raced on Halibrand wheels in the Pomona race.

Are you referring to the Blackwell-at-Riverside shot?

It would be technically cooler if I could find the original negative; all I have are 5"x7" prints (made in his bathroom darkroom) my brother Don left me.
