Wow, that looks glorious. I've got the boxed version of RFactor on pre-order right now, so this'll be the first download once it arrives!

Epic stuff!.
Alien
I'll download it tonight.

I have some other link tongue.gif you guys might like. This guy got in a fight with rfactorcentral and that is why he is not listed there but for those people who might want a GPL "like" rfactor its great.

Isn't the reason why it is not listed on rfactorcentral that he used the GPL-EA models without permission?
Alien
Dude i got no idea i just know he got thrown out. The mod is pretty good though, there are some download links here: http://f1classic.your-talk.com/f1-classic-...d-links-t11.htm

I'll ask what exactly was the problem he had.
Alien
Well apparently in the early stages he used textures without some permissions from GPL EA. They told me he did ask for permissions but they where not of the liking of GPL EA modders, who now want to erase this mod from the face of the earth, lol.

They also told me that the mod has come a long way now and as it is, maybe less than 10% of the content is based on the conflicting content.

Also, the original GPL EA content was distributed as free, this was not a ripoff from a commercial product.

Anyways i don't care so much about these "i'm the author" problems. Anyone know where i can find the GTR and A1 GP mods for rfactor?????
Tenmantaylor
Been ages since I had anything to do with GPL, but I remember the latest GPLEA updated car models and even with the ancient GPL graphics engine they looked much nicer than the rfactor 67 shots there. Mostly to do with skinning of the GPLEA models being unbelievable attention to detail.

Check them out here http://www.kotr.de/GPL/cars/cars.html

LOL Just remembered I did some photoshop edited screenshots of the GPLEA RA300 for them and they are still on the website! biggrin.gif http://www.kotr.de/GPL/cars/1967f1/Honda_R.../GPLEA_1024.zip

How's that suddenly not so bad? If an author has certain wishes regarding the use of his creation we should simply respect those. I highly doubt you realise what effort it takes to create the artwork, physics, etc for mods.

Well, got it now and it's sensational. Just had a tremendous amount of fun barrelling around Kylami in an Ensign with all the driver aids off. To my amazement my best time was quicker than Arturo Merzarios in qualifying for the real thing, I, frankly, rock!wink.gif

Of course, Merzario didn't qualify for the race, and I wouldn't have either . . . bugger . . .

Got it. Great fun!

Had to eliminate that 'shaking' by modifying *.plr file and it's great!

Respect! Big respect for guys who drove that in real life! What a blast!
