I think the 2010 job is too specific for it to be Dernie's work. He has an advisory role as far as the overall chassis and aerodynamics are concerned. Also I think Howett would have mentioned Dernie's name in case it was indeed him.

Next monday 20 Toyota mechanics will go to the airfield of Laupheim to prepare for a straightline test with Kobayashi the day after.

The FIA will have to send an inspector to verify the 'Formula 1-suitability' of the venue.

Pfeiffer: ''Aifrields are ideal for our intentions. The knowledge we will gain in Laupheim will directly flow into the work of our race team in Brasil.''

With the many regulation changes that are going on in F1 (which are not to their liking), Toyota would be thinking about turning their backs to the sport and return to Le Mans in the not so distant future.

Yamashina: ''We would gladly go to Le Mans. The definite decision for Le Mans is dependent on the budget. Under the current financial circumstances it's unlikely that we'll be doing Formula 1 and Le Mans parallelly. It will be a matter of 'either-or'. We'll certainly be stepping out when there is to be a standard engine.''

As things look now: the F1 engine formula will probably be changed in 2012. Untill 2011 the current engine is to be used. In 2011 new regulations regarding the chassis and the engine come into effect in Le Mans. That seems the perfect point for Toyota to step out in case they really are going to.

Wow, this is big news ! Toyota are declaring an intention to step back from F1, by 2012 at the latest ?
"We'll certainly be stepping out..." ?
That's like pushing over the first domino...

Howett and Marmorini have been saying for a long time they'd step out if there is going to be a single aggravate.

Kobayashi went up and down the runway some 30 times each time practicing starts.

Yesterday Trulli stayed at the hotel the entire day together with doctor Ceccarelli because he wasn't feeling well.

Howett: ''I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with Jarno but we expect him to be ready for action on Friday.''
