$1000 '91 VW Passat 2l 16V wagon with stunning amounts of foam filler and bondo behind the freshly applied rock guard (note to self - be more aggressive when investigating used cars)
2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Quad Cab Sport (Ha! The only Sport is seeing how much fuel we can use).
Numerous half-built motorcycle engines destined for equally finished motorcycles.
BMW handles the best even with it's spooky front end, and has the nicest ride. VW is the quickest by far. The Dodge...well, it's the most expensive...

Well it isnt great to drive, going past 115kmph is near impossible @36bhp.
But well Ive had a couple of scary moments...
Oh well...at the end of the day it gives me 15km/lt (35.2 miles/gallon).

daily hack; 1993 Camry V6 with all the electronic bells and whistles
fun car: 1970 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow
For the full and ludicrous list of my wheels over the years, with pics, see
http://www.terrywalk...s/Carsowned.htm
It's a little out of date: the Camry has just replaced the 1990 Ford Falcon.

Any more I'm essentially disinterested in a what a car can do until it has 150,000mi on it. I'm listening then.

1984 Toyota AE-86 Corolla, with a Toyota Altezza two litre twin cam & 5-speed automatic gearbox, tiptronic style.
1983 Toyota Starlet, project car getting a ~240hp 9500rpm 1600cc twin cam.
1998 WRX, with a kit to take it to STi power levels.
Fraser Clubman, a Super Se7en clone also with an Altezza twin cam of about 220hp.
Sports 1300 racing car. Suzuki Swift Gti 1300cc twin cam powered. Got wings & rudimentary ground effects, etc.
Mallock Mk31, also not finished. Nissan SR16 powered, Hewland Mk9 gearbox.
1981 Corolla rally car. Yet another project toy, getting a Suzuki 2.7 litre V6 of about 340hp, Ford Sierra 4WD gearbox, etc.
Can-Am replica, yet another project unfinished. Toyota V-8 powered, Porsche gearbox.
More on them here.

Wife's rides are a Jaguar S-Type and a VW Bug ragtop. Don't ask why; she just "had to have them."
My favorite transport is my Yamaha Vino scooter. 49cc of ground-pounding thunder.

But back home I have my ongoing project waiting under covers. A datsun 1600. I have a page on the engine mods: http://zac510.ozdat.com/ . It is not to the level of engineering and vehicle dynamics that we talk about in this forum but it was a unique path to take and I learnt a lot by experimenting.

Needless to say, it really confuses a lot of people that I can like motosport so much and yet not drive. I think in a way it works in reverse - I end up waiting till I can afford something that's not chronically embarassing before I get a car.

As you can see, I am Diesel fan and still a fan of Japanese cars, although those built outside Japan are not quite of the same quality and reliability.

Here is another favorite piece of iron...56 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan. Got in 1986, I built it as my homage to the liquor haulers of Back In The Day. Holman Moody-type front snout, suspension and brakes, 9" Ford rear, 383 CID SB Chevy, 498 bhp. Nothing very trick like NTOS builds, just simple and sanitary. Beautiful balance and weight distribution, funnest car on dirt (or snow) I have ever driven.

Is a bit disconcerting, particularly for someone on the FoMoCo side of the gulf heh. My grandfather was the largest Ford dealer in Central California at one time so I tend to be a bit of a partisan. That said, there's hardly a car in the world that can't be improved with a good ol' SBC.
Nice chimera nevertheless

Raise you with this one. It was an amazingly straight and original car, except I substituted an 1800 for the 1300. With a 5.3:1 diff, heaps of fun, wet or dry,

My Fraser Clubman, also Altezza 3SGE powered and has a 6-speed box.

- 1969 KE10 Toyota Corolla, 2-door sedan, white - restoration project
- 1969 KE11 Toyota Corolla, 2-door sedan, blue - no idea what to do with it
- 1974 KE26 Toyota Corolla, 5-door wagon, white - preparing for hillclimbs. obscenely practical car also
- 1982 volvo 245 - getting rid of it
- 1996 Holden Apollo (badge-engineered Toyota Camry) - getting rid of it
In the past I've also had '75 and '76 KE30 4-door sedan Corollas, an '86 AE82 5-door liftback Corolla, and an '01 AE112 5-door liftback Corolla... The KE10/KE11 are the most attractive IMHO though they do have their serious flaws (non-collapsing steering column!)
