NEW TRACK NEW TRACK OH DEAR IS IT LIECHTENSTEIN IS IT NAURU OH NO IT IS SINGAPORE WHY DO ALL THESE LITTLE COUNTRIES LOOK THE SAME
The perimeter of the circuit is 5067 metres according to both Forix and formula1.com, which puts them in a state of what is known as "total agreement" on this particular issue, a state that by some people has been described as "rather pleasant".
A track map can be found here
I haven't seen any lap time estimates, but as people have compared the track with Valencia, they expected Valencia to be the faster one. Looking at the layout above, it certainly looks more like Monaco than Monza.

Average speeds corresponding to a selection of lap times over 5067 metres:

Lap Average

Time	Speed

(s) (km/h)

88 207.3

90 202.7

92 198.3

94 194.1

96 190.0

98 186.1

100 182.4

102 178.8
2008 pole speeds: Valencia 197.076 km/h, Hungary 194.954 km/h, Monaco 158.655 km/h.

How to enter: Just submit your guess for what the pole time will be, and who you think will take pole.
Ten position penalties are ignored if and only if they are due to disciplinary reasons.

Deadline:
Full entry is accepted only for entries submitted/edited before the start of first free practice.
Guesses entered or edited after first free practice will get a penalty in the form of an added time gap between the guess and the pole time: 0.100 s for "Default" tracks, 0.400 s for "Modified Layout" tracks, 0.900 s for "New" tracks.
Final deadline is whenever I choose to register the entries; typically Friday evening CET. But always after first free practice. In case of me being absent and not able to register the entries in time, the absolute final deadline is the start of Saturday practice.

Scoring rules

-The best eight guessers (closest to the actual pole position time) Score points F1 style, 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.

-Precision points are given to every participant whose guess was sufficiently close the actual pole position time according to this list:

 <-----------Time offsets----------->

Pts Default Modified Layout New Track [s]

10 - 0.050 - 0.100 - 0.150

8 - 0.100 - 0.200 - 0.300

6 - 0.200 - 0.400 - 0.600

5 - 0.400 - 0.800 - 1.200

4 - 0.600 - 1.200 - 1.800

3 - 0.800 - 1.600 - 2.400

2 - 1.200 - 2.400 - 3.600

1 - 2.000 - 4.000 - 6.000
The first race of the season counts as a Modified Layout unless it's brand new.
A track that wasn't used the previous season also counts as a Modified Layout.
A track that hasn't been used for the previous five seasons counts as a New Track.

-Driver Points are given for correctly guessing the driver to take pole position. The amount of points given depends on the current value of the driver, according to this list:

Pts Recent qualifying results

5 0 front row starts in the previous five races

4 1 front row start in the previous five races

3 2 front row starts in the previous five races

2 3-5 front row starts in the previous five races

For anyone considering taking a late guess to gain information from practice sessions, let me just point out that for a new circuit, the penalty for a late guess is 0.9 seconds.

Any late guess?
Shouldn't there be a difference between 5 minutes too late and 5 hours too late?

I probably can get closer to the actual time by cunningly waiting until after both free practices tomorrow.
