"DNF" Means here races where the driver didn't get any votes at all...
Drivers equal in points have been sorted by the principle of best race results.
The Japan results made Kimi pass JPM for third place overall, and Taku-san improved his position quite a bit.

Somewhere in a Swiss village drops of champagne hit the ceiling.... WDC is one thing, but winning this one by such a margin is something else :drunk:

On the other side, Pedro...

I really like this one, but I'm surprised that so few people actually vote -given all the discussions in the RC forum. But then, perhaps it's OK like this - not too much "team tactics"!
The "rate the race" outcome is always telling. I won't ever vote on the "satisfaction" question -the only criterium for me is: "was it a good race?"

Thanks, Makarias!

Thanks, scheivlak! :)
The voting attendance has been quite a disappointment lately, for sure. It's normal that it drops as the season goes by, it has done so before, but it has been really uncomfortably low now. I'm planning to move the threads back to RC for next season, which would seem a more natural environment in the first place. They just happened to follow here with the competitions when bira created the subforum instead of Bjorn's fine link service initiative.

Great work, Makarias!

But where's the USA? And the overall results of the season for Quality of racing average?

Was it a boring season race vice - or just average?

Added USA... Thanks TT6! :)

Thanks for some great work during the year Makarias!
I'm curious: how do those averages compare with those in 1999 or 2000? (I presume we don't have data for years further back). Equally, if the best race was Silverstone (8.7) and 3-4 others in a second tier at about 7, how does that match up with the past?
I guess where I'm coming from is that 2002 was clearly not as exciting nor had as good racing as say 2000 (to say nothing of 79-80, 86, 87, 89, 95-98) and I was wondering if the results reflect that.

Cheers for taking over the running! It's a shame that MS & RB still came out top dispite the fact they spent most of season cruising around in the fastest car and didn't need to go that extra percent out of their car that many of the other drivers needed to.

The table is definately more interesting when you remove the big three, people's opinions are definately biased towards the fastest cars (and I'm not going to claim to be a saint :)) Unfortunately this limits points to the rest of the field. Maybe it's time to drop the 10-6-4-3-2-1 format and go for something tailored to the voting (eg extend to 8 drivers per race). I'd also reverse the rule of resolving equal votes by who finished higher - if somebody in a Minardi gets as many votes as somebody in a Ferrari, the former is probably more deserving! Oh, and maybe instead of DNF, you should use DNI.... Did Not Impress :)

GreenLaten: I used to run this, I did 1999, 2000 and the first half of 2001. However, the Rating the Race stuff was new this year.
