Orders can be placed on <www.motorfilms.com> and after a change in distributor we are keen to hear from anybody who feels they haven't received MFQ for a while, without realising that their subscription might have expired. To be frank our follow-up on expired subscriptions has been abysmal. We don't like to ask, but if any former subscribers would really like to renew please do contact us.
We have very much enjoyed putting each MFQ Volume together and it's very heartening indeed to hear that others enjoy this kind of material offered in first-generation quality from the best originals Weg can find. There's plenty more material in the wings ready to assume centre stage in future Volumes...

Have made sure they know they look very tired and should have an early night..........;)
Great to see the "Roland Thaxter" tribute in so soon.
DCN, I've seen your comments on the attractions or otherwise of YouTube and generally agree, however I have noticed there are growing number of folks offering clips as advertisements for the DVD wares they offer.
I will be ordering some 70's rallying DVD's as soon as Christmas is paid for.. that'll be July then!!
Why not adopt the if you can't beat them, use them to your best advantage stance, it may help MFQ turn over substantially.
As far as subscription goes, I have had problems in the past, but it seems to be going well at the moment.
I have all 17 MFQ's and long may they continue, keep up this magnificent work Doug and David.

And strangley Robert Dean, one time mechanic at Teddy Yip's Ensign team, and currently in charge of a large collection of historic vehicles, is the the son of the Dean part of Pearl and Dean, spooky!

Having just re-watched vol 9 , the visit to the late Denis Jenkinson's cottage in Hampshire when he was close to the end in hospital.
You showed us a 1948 Emeryson GP car out in the open and a 1924 Sunbeam GP team car essentially rolling chassis and in need of much work.
No doubt all the old road cars in the undergrowth of the grounds made their way to the breakers yard when the house was demolished, do you know I wonder, what happened to these racing cars and if they have been restored.
I suppose maybe 4 years ? have elapsed since the film was made perhaps they have re-emerged somewhere by now . I do hope they were not destroyed.

The Emeryson was left by DSJ to his solicitor who subsequently sold it to an Austrian collector who commenced a lengthy restoration, which was 'rather' necessary.
The Sunbeam - an immensely important vehicle less engine - was left by DSJ to an old friend resident in Canada...who commenced a lengthy restoration...
As Jenks might have put it - you can't kill some cars.

It would be interesting to know how they are getting on and indeed how they should both look when completed.

Oh, that's good news, hopefully that means 18 is due through the letter box soon ?
Thanks to Gary I recently saw a promotional DVD (which is actually free to anyone who wants it ) for a company called Video Station who specialise in transfering celluloid film to DVD be it standard 8mm, super 8mm , 9.5mm , 16mm, and 35mm.
Now OK, many people can do that after a fashion , but the broadcast quality transfer equipment these people use ( which doubtless costs tens of thousands ) and some electronic image enhancement machinery appear to be capable of producing the most astonishing results cleaning up the damage, sharpening the image and enriching the colours.
It is truly amazing what is possible these days, mind you I don't know what it costs, however if you are interested
