Sure? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was going to be called F2007, but I could be wrong.

Marc Gene: "I've only seen a model of it, it's an evolution of the 248, which was a great car so we didn't need to change too much about it. The results from the wind tunnel have been very encouraging."
Other stuff: seamless gearbox, innovative use of new materials according to the tech director and a rumoured longer wheelbase.
It's going to need to be good because that R27 looks stunning and you can bet the mp4-22 is going to be spectacular too. I can't wait.

How do you know? There's nothing stopping them adopting the logical F200X naming practice once again. Or what do you suggest F248B, F248-2???

No unfortunately not, but I think it was something in lines with "wow" or "huh". Go figure

Because when the F248 was launched, Ferrari explianed the new name and that they will be dropping the F200X for the immediate future.

Or F248.07 or F248-07.
Ferrari has used several different designations recently, and there's not really been a clear trend;
F310, F300, F248 etc. They used the actual year in the designation from 2000 to 2005 though, as everyone part of this forum knows - not trying to lecture anyone here, just pointing it out.
I'm looking forward to this launch, and I really hope they've managed to get the car ready.
Räikkönen so richly deserves to get a title, so I'll be hoping for a very competitive and reliable car.

Good one! I could well see them including Schumacher's name in the designation. In fact, I almost expect it now!
Even if it was different, we all remember the F-2003 GA....
...Perhaps it could be called "748-MS" ? Nah(people would only think about the Ducati). What project number are they on now? I'm thinking of the 640-number, if you see what I mean.

The "Schumi 07" would be a fitting, if rather vomit-inducing, tribute, representing both the year, and the number of WDC's Schumacher won (albeit 5 at Ferrari).Originally posted by slapstick
I think "Paris" would be even better.
Not that it would put entirely unnecessary pressure on Kimi or anything...

It's a 'fact' that any Ferrari F1 car is stunning, cept maybe for anything with that chin wing monstrosity attached
(ps when I say 'fact' I'm being tongue in cheek ).

They will put the new paint scheme on the F248 ? People, bedazzled by the slick new red, white, and green paint treament won't notice that is the same car quite probably - some will marvel at the features of the new *cough* car perhaps?

By the way, judging from those drivers' overalls, there's going to be a bit more white on the cars, too.

not really liking it, it might look better in the tobacco version.
Apparently the increase of white in the uniform is to do with Marlboro increasing sponsorship and will also be on the car, they also suggest the scarlet may become even more brighter and orange like.

I just find it strange though that they aren't doing a proper launch is all. Maybe F1 has just become so competitive that denying the competition a look at your car until the last minute is really decisive?
It just seems to me thought that they are stalling a proper launch because they are going to change parts of the car?

What's the point of this at all if there is no single photo? They could have held the PC at Madonna di Campiglio then and just start testing it when it is ready.
