On the other hand, there is the Pete Lyons's book ''Can-Am" which is excellent with many
black & white & colours photos, with starting grids & results. It covers Can Am from 1966
through 1974, 268 pages.
And there's another good one written by someone named David McKinney...

But it would be even better if you swapped John Cannon's US flag for a Canadian one ;)

Good luck.

the problem i have is that any series that called itself Can-Am after the 1973 season was a poor relation at best....

There were two Lola's which happened to fly when cresting the Hump on the back straight. Both cars flipped backwards end over end and both drivers energed without injury.
Where is the humour in that?
Both the drivers, Paul Hawkins and Hugh Dibley had the same day job, they were both airline pilots!

You may be interested to know that there is a "World Can-Am Series" for 1/32nd scale model electric cars (slot cars) about to start, with the first races taking place in Tasmania next week.
Take a look at the SlotForum link -- it also contains lots of information on the full-size Can-Am series.
With kind regards,
Russell
