I've only recently arrived in Germany with work and am hoping to combine this with my first visit to the Nordschleife, which I believe is also open this weekend.

The Oldtimer GP is a huge event, and seems to be a meeting place for just about every one make car club in Germany. There would appear to be quite a bit of activity on the Nordschleife. Besides the 3 hour race, there's a demo between 12:00 and 13:30 of pre 1940 racing sports cars, 2-seaters and GTs up to 1961 and 1965, together with pre '60 Historic GP cars and the Ferrari Maserati Challenge.
Enjoy yourselves, mark f1 and Pedro 917, I wish I was there with you!

The engine blew in lap 4 during Saturday's race. He did the fastest lap though.

Btw, can we expect images from you as well?
Edit: you're too fast for me! Yes, I know about the other 707, I took several images myself. Thanks for sharing!

Also did my first lap around the Nordscleife, that was awesome, although having to constantly move over for the quick guys was a pain, I'm sure they said the same about me. Hard to compete with Porsche's with an Astra wagon. Gotta love the German mentality of letting people decide their own limits eg. Nordscleife and autobahns!

Btw, I uploaded some more images. See: http://home.arcor.de...e/oldtimer.html

Hi Rob, sorry for the delay, it's been flat out since getting back working on the car to try make the next race at Magny Cours.
The car was working really well at nurburg in the wet and dry, we have the car handling much better than at Brands and are understanding the car more now in it's 717 configuration, it was quick enough to fight for the win and set fastest lap so it's looking very promising for the future races. It was a shame the engine failed as the race was shaping up to be a cracker between Richard, John and Frank up front.
We now have the engine out and fully stripped and have started the component sourcing etc. but it's very tight to get it rebuilt, dyno'd and back in the car as we have to leave in nine days, but we will give it our best to try and be there.
thanks for the great photos Rob and Pedro, i was watching you take them on the grid Pedro.
