Hi.
I´ve done some research on the chassis numbers of James Dean Porsches.

What I came up with is that the Speedster had/has #80033 (1954 year-model).

I´ve also learned that the owner of the Speedster today...want to stay anonymous.

About the 550 Spyder. I´ve found out that the chassis number is/was #5500055

I always thought it was a 1954 model...but obviously it was a 1955.

Anybody with more information...pleace participate.

Best.

Why is the Glockler "special" listed? There were 7 of them built, and they have little to do with Porsche....

I believe that Walter Glöckler was the ancestor of the Porsche Spyders with this car built in 1950.

I guess it was a private build based on VW and Porsche parts...and Porsche obviously took it from there.
And...doesn´t it look a bit like a 550?
Why it´s listed...you tell me.

It's not that difficult. Plenty
of examples in the field.

What I intended was an implication
that I do know, and your invitation to
participate would be difficult to accept while
maintaining the current owners' anonymity. :(

Some people just can't tell a joke.

Sorry about that Frank. My first language is not English...so I guess I may have problems with the language nuances at times. :)

I see on cnn.com that a museum in Illinois is offering $1million for the Dean car although it's whereabouts are unknown.
