While loking through the Dick Wallen-book about the Seventies, I found an interesting picture of an '74 Eagle of Bobby Unser from the races at Trenton (page 85). The car looks quite different from the standard Eagle. It has very big rear wing with long endplates and a nose cone with an integrated kind of wing. The car reminds me somehow of the Lotus 80 which appeared five years later.

Anyone who has more info about this Eagle. How often was it used in this configuration? Does anyone have other pictures of that car, especially ones which show the side of it.

I would like to add the picture from the Wallen-book in this tread, but because of copyright issues I don't think it is a very clever idea. Anybody who knows something about that car?

Didn't Elliot Forbes-Robinson drive an Eagle very similar to that description?

Take a look at this car at this link:

Under the heading cars for sale, race cars, there is a an Eagle 73A for sale. It is listed as Elliott Forbes Robinson's car. I own the remnants of 73A-002.

Thanks for the hint. So AAR probably tested the F5000-nose on the Champ Car, but apparently it didn't work too well, because most pictures from that year show the typical Eagle Champ Car-nose of the Mid-Seventies. So it was not used very often.

BTW, in the new Kirby-book about the Unser-family there is a picture, which shows an `74-Eagle driven by B. Unser during a test with the above mentioned huge rear wing.
