The anniversary of Tony Brooks' win at Syracuse in 1955 has set me thinking.

He won on his Formula 1 debut. Who else has done that?

Giancarlo Baghetti won at Syracuse in 1961 on his Formula 1 debut, and again on his Championship debut at Reims

Then, Mario Andretti and Carlos Reutemann started their first championship, and Formula 1 (?), races from pole.

Keke Rosberg won the 1978 International Trophy at Silverstone in a 'Theodore'. I think this was his first F1 race.

I'm sure you'll find at least one other thread on this...

Pug 'Baghetti' into search.

Stefan Bellof won his first two F2 races in 1982 at Silverstone and Hockenheim

Keke's first F1 race was two week before Silverstone in Kyalami South African GP.

Can't let Reynard's "first time out" record in several formulae including F3, F3000, CART etc go amiss here.

And Rossi and Honda won the(ir) first MOTO GP race.

On the subject of CART, Mansell managed pole & win at the first attempt (at Surfer's Paradise) and the championship in the first year.
