* I know that Gaston Rahier mainly was a Moto Crosser but in 1987 he drove car # 40 at the Le Mans 24 h race.

A small analysis for statisticians:

Distribution according to
age („c.“ means I don’t know the exact birth date)
under 20: 1,	20-29:	2, 30-39:	4,

40-49:	5,	50-59:	8, 60-69: 14,

70-79: 35,	80-89: 30, 90-99:	5,

over 100: 1,	unknown: 3 (Barros, Kinnane, Peltier)
and nationality
USA 43,	Great Britain 24,	Germany 10,

Argentina 4,	Switzerland	4,	Belgium 2,

Canada 2,	Finland 2,	France 2,

Italy 2,	Netherlands	2,	Sweden 2,

Australia 1,	Brazil 1,	Czech Republic 1,

Ireland 1,	New Zealand	1,	Portugal 1,

Russia 1,	South Africa 1,	Zimbabwe 1
I’m afraid there were many more. For example I cannot imagine countries like France or Italy to be so fortunate having lost just two persons each (Trintignant, Dubosc; Ronca, Zanon).

Thank you for going to the trouble of putting this together. It is not the pleasantest of tasks, but is one that needs to be done.

I don't have any dates for him and he seems to have slipped under TNF's radar, but rally driver David Siegle-Morris passed away last year as well. See Classic & Sports Car Feb 2006 p16.

I don’t like to bring up a thread of my own (that has gone down to page 4).
But there are some more losses from 2005. The majority of the following were provided by Jim Thurman (thank you, Jim!), one stems from „Motorsport aktuell“ magazine, and one I found on the net by coincidence.

Sad news from southern Italy, three deaths for cancer:

- Mario Casciaro, very good sportscar and hillclimb driver from Calabria, died on May (or June, date unknown) 2005.

- Vincenzo Mirto-Randazzo, great Sicilian touring-cars and GT driver, 14 times Targa Florio starter from 1963 to 1977, died in the early days of January 2006.

- Francesco Scaramozzino, sportscar hillclimber from Calabria, father of Carmelo and Gianluca also sportscar drivers, died on 18 Jan. 2006.

Reinhard,

Please remove Julian Buesink from this list. My error. Bob Coolidge caught this one. I'm embarrassed that it slipped by me. The information I had came from an obituary that turned out (after more digging) to be his brother.

Apparently, Julian Buesink was born in 1910 and possibly died in 1998 (sorry, no dates or months). Please note that and make appropriate changes for your birthdate list.

Sorry for the error.

Bertil Lundberg from Sweden died in May (I think - I'll try to find out) 2005 - at 89 years. He participated in the 1950 German GP with his own F2 car, the BLG 2000.
Lundberg was later a prominent figure in Swedish motorsport. He was the big introducer for karting (his sons raced against Ronnie Peterson) and he built the first go-kart-track in Sweden. Lundberg was also chairman in the Swedish autosport association for many years.

Bertil Lundberg passed away March 22nd 2005, a few months before his 90th birthday.
